American Eagle & Aerie — Local services in San Mateo

I really love shopping at American Eagle since they have a lot of nice quality items for decent prices. This store is normally friendly and really helpful, I had a positive experience until I needed to checkout. The cashier didn’t even say hi or hello which I don’t mind since she probably had a busy day. My problem was when I asked her to use my student discount. For some reason unidays in store discounts codes don’t go through, but as long as they have proof I am a student I do receive the offer. The same issue came up and I explained it to her, she called who I think is the manager and rolled her eyes as she told her “she says she supposedly has a student discount” something close along these lines. I never feel ashamed for using coupons since I am a struggling student that has to pay rent and tuition, but I really did feel embarrassed by the attitude she gave me from the moment I asked her to use the discount. This is the worst store I have ever shopped in. Nothing but trouble when you try to exchange or return things here. Managers don’t help and the staff doesn’t know what’s going on. I’m here right now trying to make an exchange in the store and their website and answering machine say they’re open at 10:15. It is now 10:15 and though there was an employee working in the window and two employees have come in. They lock the door in my face and say they don’t know what time the store opens! It feels like they intentionally make returns difficult here. Manager was aggressively suggesting I shop around before making my return "so you only wait in line once." I had the order info pulled up on AE app--not good enough, they want to see the bottom of the email too. I have no cell signal here and they want me to pull up an email? They didn't ask for the email on previous returns, just the order number and my phone #. They told me to use WiFI, but their WiFi doesn't work. Took me more than 30 minutes just to return two items...
