Went in to hopefully resolve an issue with a gift card that I was having. Talked to a guy named Mo, name tag said he was an assistant store leader. He scanned my gift card after I explained to him what happened; the balance said that I had $30.00. So I was relieved to find that the issues I was having online didn't effect my gift card.
I then wanted to buy the product in store, seeing as how I was already there and drove across town to this GameStop exclusively as it was where I purchased my Xbox One console. Mo, rang it up (didn't change the installment or amount tindered to $30.00 as to match the gift card) so I swiped my gift card and nothing happens. He realized that he needed to change it, so we try again to find that now the gift card won't work...
He said sorry man, looks like the funds to that gift card won't be accessible to you for about forty-eight hours. I then proceeded to ask if he could simply issue me a new gift card and I would be happy to relinquish the one I had for the same amount. We can all see that there was, indeed, a total of $30.00 on it.
I would have to say that this is unacceptable customer service, I am extremely displeased by this entire thing. I guess I'll simply have to wait forty-eight hours to use my stupid and possibly worthless gift card AGAIN. Hopefully, if it works next time, I can plan on spending some money instead of being instructed to wait. Doubtful any of the GameStop employees, even the store manager care about this one tiny incident though.
Sorry GameStop, but you really dropped the ball on this one. I'm not mad, I'm honestly sad that for whatever reason you simply can't give a good experience for just the average customer who had bad luck with a gift card. One star for poor customer service on Mo's part, sorry dude but you need to do...
Read moreI have had a good experience here and the only things that I have a problem with is that there is one guy who was rude as he was snarky and gave some attitude but the rest are very sweet people and they usually run out of games or products in general when it says that the store has the product. I once got a cut copy of a game and the cashier said if I truly wanted the cut copy as it was the last copy they had of the game. I was okay with it but the cashier made sure I truly was ok with having the cut copy and the game had everything in it and the music cd and sticker decals were brand new as well as the game did not have an save files on it (3ds game). ONE BIG FLAW the store keeps changing the layout of the store and barely have any room to look at the headsets controllers, etc as well as the one la behind the counter. Also near a Mrs.Fields...
Read moreCame to purchase a couple of PS5 games because I honestly thought they would have better deals. There were only a couple of customers and we hd to wait 45 minutes because this lady in the cashier was taking so long to assist the people she was with for the past 45 minted. When we were frustrated and wanted to leave, a new staff came in (could be his shift or just back from dinner). He then proceeded to serve us, took 5 minutes to turn on the computer and another 5 minutes to checkout, including finding the right product on the counter behind the cashier (the ones displayed weren’t with disc), scanning and us paying. Just simple as that and we waited for so long.
Besides that, they did have a couple of good deals for games of PS5 and Nintendo, with many other game related...
