hate leaving written reviews but after my most recent visit, I may have to move this from 3 stars back to my original 1 star.. goes for all LifeTimes in the Metro ATL area especially Phipps and Perimeter.
Kicking paying customers out of a steam room or sauna to clean in the middle of operating hours is incomprehensible. People work all day, watch their kids, etc.. then finally find time to come to the gym only to have the staff come in to clean and kick everyone out during their allotted workout times. It’s infuriating and to say there are two steam rooms and to “just go use the other steam room or sauna” is again infuriating.
Going before work in the morning is also maddening because the trainers seem to think they can hog multiple machines because they are “teaching” someone privately. Insane that they allow private classes in the open gym area. If someone wants private lifting courses, have a private area to cater to that need. The pompous attitude/main character energy from these trainers like they are celebrities is nauseating.
Again, how about you clean during off hours and find somewhere else to train individuals? It’s happened at Phipps, Sandy Springs and now Perimeter twice within two weeks of being opened. Not sure why cleaning is not done prior to opening or after close.
Brand new Infrared Saunas don’t work. Had all this time to get things in working order and yet here we are again at open.. more life time construction issues within 12 months of opening…
kids run around the open sauna and steam area, as well as other loud adults who don’t have an ounce of spacial awareness for others trying to relax in the open coed sauna/steam area. Another botched Atlanta LifeTime facility.
Even more embarrassing is the fact that Phipps and, now Perimeter, (even Sandy Sandy Spings too) have had to shut down facilities or interrupt services to fix construction issues that should have been done properly the first time for brand new facilities.. can’t count how many times there have been issues pertaining to construction fixes and there are no concessions to our bill, yet they seem to happily up the bill what feels like every 6 months.
Multiple New York locations, the River North Chicago, Tampa, Dallas, and Houston locations make any Atlanta location look like a joke.. which for the most part, are.
Not happy with Lifetime in Atlanta. The only reason I keep this membership is to have access when traveling. Other than that I wouldn’t spend a dime here moving forward. Time and time again y’all continue to fall short on these high expectation locations. Sandy Springs location currently is the best location.
Seriously considering canceling and moving elsewhere. Thats my two cents for those that...
Read moreWhile the aesthetics are great, for a new facility that has been opened for just a few weeks there is a lot that doesn't work. For example, the infrared saunas have not worked. In the men's locker room a stall has been out of order for over a week, leaving 2 available, also in the men's room there is no hot water in the sinks. Shaving with cold water is not fun. I find the front desk uncaring. For example, when I notified the front desk about the lack of hot water for a second time in a week, I was told I need to talk with operations. When I asked how does one get in touch with operations, I was told they are walking around. I don't even know what that means. For an upscale club there appears to be a lack of consideration from the staff other than the fitness trainers looking to sell various programs. Like others have mentioned, the coed steam and whirlpool area is problematic. My wife has said she feels uncomfortable. I get the sense that Lifetime thinks they are doing me a favor by allowing me to be a member. I would stay away until the management is able to get things fixed and the staff is better trained. The facility itself, however, is...
Read moreThe new Perimeter facility is beautiful and first class. The co-ed sauna, whirlpool, steam space to me is perfectly fine and feels like you are in a 5 star resort. The bar restaurant is fantastic, pool area is lovely. If you are a treadmill or stairmaster fan, they have an abundance of equipment - 50 treadmills and 20 stairmasters. Most disappointing to me is that they do not have some of the other popular cardio equipment - no Cybex Arc Trainers - available at every other Lifetime I've been too - and a low selection of Elliptical equipment, maybe 5 or 6. The True brand of Ellipticals are not calibrated correctly - they say that I'm burning like 1000 calories every 20 minutes. Not correct. I'm not sure why they purchased so many treadmills and stairmasters but don't have some of the variety of other cardio equipment, esp the Cybex Arc Trainers. I am finding myself traversing back and forth b/w the Sandy Springs location when I'd rather be...
