My personal experience with this private school was not positive. I feel I was taken advantage of, as I was asked to repeat a course I had already completed elsewhere and also take additional pre-courses. These prerequisites, particularly humanities courses, came with expensive fees.
Based on their requirements, I completed most courses a semester ahead, anticipating that I had met all the necessary criteria. I had been taking these pre-courses at a community college to save money.
The school's counselor gave me the impression that I had been accepted into their nursing program. They suggested that I could complete the remaining prerequisites while in the program. When I inquired about tuition costs, they avoided providing a clear answer. Instead, they encouraged me to accept their terms and secure admission before discussing financial matters with a financial advisor.
By the time I met with the financial advisor, I discovered that the total program cost would be $60,000. There were no scholarships or government aid available to offset these costs, so I had to take out loans to pay the fees. At that point, it was too late to change my decision without missing the semester. I proceeded with the program, believing that the prerequisites and nursing courses would be beneficial if I decided to transfer to another college or university later on.
Unfortunately, when I attempted to transfer some courses, such as chemistry, to another university, they were recognized as microbiology, making them non-transferable. These courses could only be used at the private school. As a result, I have left the private school and am now attending a regular state university.
This change will take me longer to complete my degree, but I am confident that it will allow me to pursue my dreams without being burdened by massive loans that require immediate repayment...
Read moreI currently am in the process of looking at returning back to school for health information management due to my current career dissatisfaction. So I scheduled a 4p.m appointment for today May 13th. And it was with Pamela Barnhart. My experience with Pamela was not a good one, as I felt she wanted to screen me to find out if I was even compatible for the program. As opposed to just answering any question I had. I finally got annoyed and hung up on the woman. And do you know, this woman, never called me back? Never. Apparently, this admissions advisor, Pamela Barnhart didn't really want to help me. And this looks bad for an admissions advisor. I sent her an email to express my dissatisfaction. And she answered, claiming that after I hung up....she received a phone call. How would you have gotten a phone call when at least a half of an hour was supposed to be dedicated to answering my questions had I stayed on the call? And she still did not offer to call back or even offered to reschedule the phone call. Hey I don't know how this school operates as a whole, but this experience with Pamela Barnhart has sent me some red flags now! This looks really bad...
Read moreIf you want to stay in communication with anyone regarding your academic records or attendance at this school, DO NOT EXPECT A CALL BACK! Their communication skills are the worst! I am currently in the process of trying to communicate with my advisor, Mr. Jermonte Battle after leaving messages and emails and no response. I was transferred to another advisor who sounded like he did not want to assist whats so ever and was quick to get rid of me over the phone. They are definitely money hungry and make you go through hoops to take of business! Today I have left a message for Shannon Moore, the director of admissions I guess and hopefully I'll receive a call back....I will be keeping this post updated! So please reconsider and continue to look scholars!
8/23 - I sent an email to Jermonte Battle expressing my pure concern regarding his communication skills and my request to withdrawal, his response was very short and he quickly directed me to the registrar's office to withdrawal. No remorse, no questions of concern or any interest on how he could make me continue to keep me as a student at Herzing whatsoever! RUN Future Scholars! That was my ticket...
