Got quotes from a national and then a big regional outfit and was quoted $1200 and then $1300 to get a decent head unit/stereo to replace the unreliable stock unit in my car. Frustrating because I was imagining $600 to $800 tops, bottom line with parts and installation and after those quotes I figured I was being naive after being quoted almost twice the amount I was willing to spend. Last ditch effort was to find a small, local owned outfit and see if it was just going to be that expensive to do what I needed to get done. Found Elite Auto and it wasn't too far from my area. Walked out with a scheduled install with a set-up not any different from the two other places I visited and all for $800! The guy was very insightful and helpful making the decisions about what product to use as well as some future purchases I plan on making (and I will definitely be returning for those). The only negative is that he is a one man show, so I had to schedule out a couple weeks, but I can deal with frustration of my current stereo for a while longer to save hundreds of dollars. Just got an aftermarket stereo with Android Auto and Apple Carplay installed and this was some of the best customer service I have had in a while!
