Let's see the waitresses were not great. They weren't helpful at all. I went with my fiancee for his birthday. While he went to the bathroom I was trying to get a table for us. The waitress, hostess, who knows since everyone was gone, finally ask me what I need I tell her i need a table for 2 and she flat out tells me well it will be a while probably 45 min although no one was waiting and 3 tables were just available. She then tells me I can sit inside I tell her The table inside is high I am 4'10 and I just had a procedure done on my knee so I can't sit inside because it will be uncomfortable for me. She says "O well, you will have to wait 45 min". She takes my last name I sit at a bench to wait for my fiancee and the 45 minutes when I hear another couple come up ask for a table and she says if you give me 5 minutes I will have a table ready for you. That was the first strike. I would've left but my fiancee wanted to stay. We go inside in hopes of getting a table, it was hotter inside than outside. Strike number 2. The tables are cramped together that I could barley open my chair. He helps me get up on the chair, super uncomfortable. Strike number 3. The waitress comes over in a rush asking what we wanted, comes back with our drinks ask what we want I was about to ask about the menu and she says your not ready to order and walks away. We waited atleast 15 minutes for her to come back says "are you ready now? " We get the food and my Fiancee steak is rare not medium rare and my fish was swimming in a watery sauce. The scallops weren't appetizing at all and the steak had no seasoning. The check came out to $98 for poor service and not so good food. To bring me the check, get my card and bring it back to me took her at least 20 to 25 minutes. I was staring right at her to come and get the bill and she was just at the register chatting up a storm with the other waitress/slash bartender. Oh and while inside waiting to he served a table with lower chairs became available right behind me. I asked if it was any way possible we can have that table because of my knee and she says no it's reserved yet another couple comes in she tells them that table is available to have a seat and she will be right with them.. It was a horrible experience. I won't be...
Read moreFor as highly rated as this place is you would have thought it would be a no brainer for a quality meal with excellent service. It must be rated this way for the bar and atmosphere as service and food quality is severely lacking.
Host(s) just gathered at the front not really acknowledging you and walking away with no real direction on where to sit. A member of the clean up staff has to say “just choose a table”.
Not kid friendly; “sorry we are out of crayons” was a second signal of the experience to come. If management cannot aptly keep tabs on basics of inventory such as crayons for their kids menu’s, then I’m suspicious of their attention to food based policy and procedure.
Seared Ahi tuna was just dipped in old bay and room temperature. It appeared low in quality with gristle strewn throughout.
Ordered our meal with a side of coleslaw but it came out with fries instead, which we were charged for.
Not a table in that place is level and tip over constantly.
Bar tenders are also servers and have no table side manners. Making me reach across the table and my spouse to grab the check... TWICE.
Call diners by salutations and not “baby”. Professionalism, please.
Came to check on our drinks once, where the server grabbed the cup by the rim then placed it back into the table once I declined. Thanks didn’t want to finish my drink.
When there is considerable food left on the customers plates and you ask “would you like a box?” And the answer is no, the logical next step would be to ask, how was your food? But instead was met with a turn and walk away.
Owners of this establishment. Invest the extra money and hire a group of external service floor managers to inspect and audit your operations before consistent reviews like this ruin your reputation.
TLDR: Need an alcoholic beverage, sure this place will suffice. Have kids and or expect better service than a beachside food truck?...
Read moreI hate to knock your ratings since I've been a customer of The Breezeway before. But, here goes. I got food poisoning from undercooked grouper last Saturday night. The whole night was off really. The wine was old, the salads did not come before dinner. The grouper was not "blackened" and the Abaco relish was more like a dense soup. And, I guess I didn't notice the fish was undercooked because of all of the Abaco sauce covering it. The floors were greasy inside and on the way to the bathroom. In the restaurant, I mentioned the floors, and the sauce, and we nixed the salads because dinner came. But, I assure you I did this all very nicely as I am in the foodservice industry myself and too nice for my own good. There was no apology or acceptance of responsibility by one of the staff on duty who seemed to have a supervisory position. In fact, when I mentioned the floors I was told that it was the City's liability anyway, (so...no matter that someone gets hurt?). My husband stopped to get ice cream on the way back to the car, and by the time we were in the car I was already feeling ill. The next day I called in to warn of the food poisoning. I spoke to the same gentleman as the night before. I made it clear that I was not asking for anything. The call was only to give them a heads up to please re-valuate their kitchen practices - as I would like to eat there in the future. Instead, I was told that food poisoning doesn't happen that fast. Again, there was no apology, no empathy, no responsibility. And, I am not saying my experience with food poisoning was a walk in the park. It is Tuesday, and I am still feeling the effects. I am writing this so that possibly the owners will take note. And, that you, dear future customers, can make...
