I have struggled to do this review because after the shock and miscommunication about the cost of my service, the owner spoke with me and listened to my concerns and was very gracious about it so that is why I’m giving this a three star instead of a one star review. What I learned is to make sure you get the full brake down of your service in writing because they charge À la cart which was not clear on their menus of services at the time of my service. However, In the meeting with the owner, he said this was something he was going to look into improving. My suggestion to you is make sure your stylist puts in writing every single thing that needs to be done to complete your service and how much they’re going to charge you. I was never told the “money shot” (The silver) in the front of my head would cost me $150, I was not told I was going to be charged for the treatment that is needed after a color. I was not told I was being charged for curling my hair, I was not told I was paying for the stylist technique of the “money shot”, however, I was told the all over color was $130. In my first consultation, I was told I would get silver highlights with black hair, which would include coloring my extensions and coloring my eyebrows black for $400. When I first arrived for my Second appointment, I was told it still would be around $400 after The stylist assessed my extensions, but because I brought in a lot of extensions, it could be extra to cover the extra color but never was given the cost amount. When I did ask for a price list at my first appointment, my stylist said she’s not in the computer right now and couldn’t give it to me. If this happens, don’t leave without that price list no matter The situation. It is very important to get that price list. At the end of my second service, I decided not to proceed with coloring my hair extensions, so I thought my amount would go down from the agreed amount with extensions of $400. Then when I went to check out they still were charging me $430 for my service. So of course I’d be shocked because we didn’t do my extensions. So after I got upset, they agreed to still color 7 clip in extensions and I paid the $430. I have added the breakdown of the charges they gave to me verbally, above. As you can see in the photo of The statement I requested of the à la carte pricing breakdown is still not showing the à la carte pricing. I have included a photo of my hair when I returned home from the salon. If you notice, I don’t have a lot of hair. They did an all over color, a “money shot” in the front. I will say, the environment was pleasant and everyone was friendly. When you arrive they make you feel at home with a glass of wine or water. So if you have money to spend, you should definitely spend it here, but if you don’t make sure you have a great understanding of...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. I walked into this salon with High expectations and it actually looks really nice inside and everyone seems to know what they’re doing. Front desk was nice and addressed me immediately but everything after that was completely down hill. I came in with a twist out and they didn’t even bother to detangle my hair first. I have type 4 hair and it’s very VERY thick They washed my hair all in one which i guess is typical for salons but they didn’t even bother to properly detangle afterwards but I’ll get to that later.
After they washed my hair and left it a knitted mess. They gave me a protein treatment which first i didn’t ask for. I just wanted a moisturizing deep conditioning treatment. After that treatment they washed it out and finally gave me the moisturizing one. They left me under the dryer for a while and when it finished I was left to sit for 20 minutes. TWENTY MINUTES without acknowledging me. I understand the salon has other people to tend to but i figured 20 minutes of patience was enough to call it. So then i reaches out to someone then they finally told me that the person that was supposed to do my hair didn’t feel confident that they could so someone else has to do it and that someone was busy giving someone a blowout so i would have to wait longer. Eventually they find someone else to do my hair and all that girl did was yank my hair out and i legitimately left looking like a cotton ball. I asked for a blowout and trim and i knew how bad my ends were and they weren’t that bad. I deep condition my hair at home with a brush and i do it in sections and i never have problems even with my ends. This last grabbed globs if my hair and tried using a wide tooth comb yanking my hair out and telling me how bad my ends were...yeah okay. She trimmed off more than i wanted—typical hair stylist so whatever but then left me looking like a cotton ball when i left and I’m not exaggerating.
I had such high hopes for this place and i was ready to hype them up upon my arrival but i will never go back nor recommend it to anyone with thick...
Read moreMy first time here was amazing! I loved my hair by Lanette. However my second time, not so much. First off owner doesn't speak. Actually I don't think no one did but every body staring! As she was washing my hair she told me I needed a SILK PRESS (I booked a wash & set) I inquired why & she told me & I said okay, that's fine. Fast forward I'm under the dryer for what feels like forever. I check my phone to see text to/from my bf & I was in & out a LIL over an hour last time. This time it had been that & I was STILL under the dryer. My dryer had went off & everything, no acknowledgment, nothing. She was doing someone else's hair... I get up to say something which I did not want to do but I did have somewhere to be & I booked an appointment! So a man comes to get me which he was nice until he made a comment that I felt was super uncalled for asking "So do you have dry scalp issues sometimes, dry patches, alopecia" Alopecia??? & so loud for everyone to hear! Something I've never been told ever & I was just here a few weeks prior. Anyways I go back to Lanette & she says "Now that your hair is blown out, you can get your original wash & set" If all it took was a "blow out" why didn't you just do that instead of offering a silk press?? So she finished my hair quickly & I feel uncomfortable now because they all are clearly gossiping. Fast forward get home & my hair is POOFY after unwrapping it later that night for the FIRST TIME since leaving. (i left with it wrapped)
Update: I appreciate the salon for correcting my wash & set after reaching out. Every one was very friendly & I was satisfied with...
