Henry’s Depot — Restaurant in Sanford

I don't normally take the time to write reviews, I but I see that the owner of the Depot reads them and demands answers as to why someone posts negative reviews. So here goes. Today was our first time going to Henry's Depot in Sanford. The place had great parking and was very clean inside. We weren't thrilled with the choices of restaurants though as we had a hard time figuring out what to order. Nothing stood out to us, but we were there so we decided to stay and order from a few booths. Dharma was closed, so that was out. I guess in the past, they had a burger and sausage place and even a Mexican place, but none of them existed today. We tried the pulled pork sandwich from Get-In-Messy Smokehouse. Zero flavor on the pork. The sweet BBQ sauce saved it. The mac-n-cheese was different as it had so much of a garlic flavor, that's all you could taste. We ordered the BBQ chicken skewers from Taglish. The chicken was tender, but the BBQ sauce was too strong. I was hoping for a different flavor since they say they are Filipino, and we would have enjoyed something other than standard tangy BBQ sauce slathered all over it. We ordered a shrimp burger from The Current. All I can say is that it was okay, nothing to write home about. We ordered a sub from Salvatore's sandwiches. The London broil sub was very tasty but too salty. The pizza we ordered from Oak Flame pizza took over 30 minutes, which was weird since there was no line and if the ovens are set to 900 degrees (like it should be for a brick oven), it should only take less than 10 minutes tops. So, we were surprised at how undercooked the dough was after we got it. It tasted good, but the crust was too blonde and undercooked. Will we be back? No. Henry's Depot is a cool concept, but unfortunately, the food offered does not support the high expectations that the owners of the Depot have envisioned. Also, why do restaurants seem to come and go there? It's a One and Done for us. I hope I have explained why I only gave this...

I want to convey how much I love every single restaurant in the Henry Depot, lets start with Pizza, LOJAXS they truly have the very best, it tastes like it does in Italy, i lived in Vincenza for 2 years, I LOOOOOVE them. Next is the The Current seafood company, everything i have tried is delicious, great portions, you go across to Salvatore's and they are the best sandwich's in Florida. Lets do BBQ with Gettin Messy, that Carolina Cuban will make you smack your momma, next we go to the Greenery, now i was hesitant because i am a foodie and its never good for me (you should know based on my comments) but i tried the vegan ice cream and its fantastic! Now we go to Sweet and Salty go get anything on the menu. On top of really great food the other thing they all have in common is absolutely AMAZING customer service. I always feel like i am special, welcomed, and taken care of when most places ignore the older fat lady they treat me like i am one of their favorite people. I have not tried the Ramen place only because I only eat that when its really cold outside, but my friends tell me its amazing! Super cute idea with different restaurants all inside to choose from. Love the concept. We had some beer that was super cold and delish. A little pricey for draft but looked like they were from local brewery so maybe thats why. But so good. There's a Seafood spot there with fresh seafood so i tried their shrimp like hush puppies. Ehhh not to flavorful and a little to mushy on the inside for my taste. My friend had the fish sandwich that was good. We also bought Burgers from what the Chuck. They were pretty good but nothing to brag about. I had the BLT burger and tasted bacon once lol!! I guess i was just expecting some busting flavors. Last we had ice cream at another little spot their that was DELISH coffee cookies and cream yummm and white chocolate raspberry Mmmmm!!! There's still other stuff to choose from when you go. Its amazing. I plan to go back and try the Pizza Spot 😊

Update-- had the pizza and didn't enjoy it. I was so hyped to try it cause it looks amazing but its made in a oven where they burn wood also so it has that smokey burnt flavor. Im sure many enjoy that but it through me off. I couldn't...
