I just had a really weird experience here. I called and spoke with a woman (I vaguely recall the name being Noella, but that may be incorrect) and asked if they did watch repairs. Specifically, the crystal on my watch was cracked as a result of a third-party establisment installing a battery, and they accidently cracked the crystal.
Noella (if that is the correct name) told me she did not know if they could repair it, and that I would have to bring it by. Admittedly, I thought that was a bit odd. As an expert, professional jeweler, it seems that either you do those types of repairs or you don't. Nevertheless, I went to the establishment and was told by her and a gentleman that the type of repair I needed would actually be sent out to their repair vendor.
I told them both "The business that broke my watch is going to pay for it, but they asked me to get estimates for repairs." They responded, "It'll probably cost about $125.00." Okay, no problem there. Then, I asked, "Can you write that down on a receipt or something so I can take it back to the place that broke it. That way, they'll have documentation of prospective costs instead of me giving them a price off the top of my head." I THOUGHT that was reasonable, and that it would not take any effort to simply give me a written estimate to document for the place that broke the watch.
Unfortunately, they both seemed insulted about me asking for that, and Noella even snapped, "WHY are you making this your problem? They broke it and are paying for it, so why should you care?" Frankly, I care because I think it's just the right thing to do! I am not in the business of taking advantage of people for my own gain, financially or otherwise.
Additionally, Noella, the other reasons are: 1) just like when a person has auto repairs done and an insurer requests a written estimate, it gives support to the validity of the claim instead of amorphously throwing numbers out of the air, 2), just because someone else is paying for the repairs does not mean I will be deceitful and just toss them costs/numbers with no documentation. Perhaps your sense of ethics are like that, but not mine, and 3) most professional businesses have no problem giving prospective customers a written quote. Why? Well, because they generally want that customer to return and stand on their commitment to a specific price. In other words, Ro Ma Jewelers, a written quote helps me (and you, for that matter) get a concrete sense of the costs to avoid coming back and the price drastically changes. Perhaps that was what you were concerned about?
Nevertheless, after being tired of them telling me why a written estimate was unnecessary, I just left, and the fact is, their brash attitudes would NEVER earn my business, I don't care who was paying for it, I would not spend one penny in this place! Why would you argue with a customer who was simply trying to do the right thing? I certainly do not need to be lectured, especially since I am in the business of lecturing. Perhaps neither of you understand that one of the most salient rules of lecturing is this: NEVER insult or "talk down" to your audience/customers. NEVER! I did not feel welcomed at this establishment AT ALL!,
The bottom line is, neither of them were trying to listen to my perspective and, instead, berated me with why they did not deem it necessary to write the repair quote on a piece of paper.
Regretfully, Dr....
Read moreI can’t thank Eli and Tania enough for my gorgeous new ring. I recently lost my center diamond in my wedding set, and I was heartbroken. My husband and I have been married for 22 years, and we had added diamonds to the ring over the years. I naturally wanted to keep the sentimental value of my ring by using my original smaller diamonds from my wrap and diamond bands. I also wanted to upgrade to a larger diamond in the center and get rid of the bulkiness of the wrap. Eli truly cared about keeping the sentimental integrity of my ring and also took the time to listen to my wish list for my “dream ring.” He incorporated what I wanted into the perfect design for me. He redesigned my new ring, found the perfect center stone, and incorporated the diamonds from my original set into something I could only dream of. It’s absolutely breathtaking and more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! I literally gasped with joy when I saw it! I can’t get over the quality, beauty, and expertise that Eli put into my new ring. I’d also like to thank Tania for being so kind and helpful during the process too. Thank you both for everything. I went from being heartbroken at the loss of my diamond to feeling sheer pride and happiness! My husband loves it too, and we will both tell everyone how...

They gave us plenty of options to choose from and they are able to customize the ring to exactly how we wanted it. They have excellent experience with AutoCad and even designed the ring with us so that every aspect was beautifully crafted to fit our vision. Within just a few weeks, the ring was delivered and it was so gorgeous. They offered free cleaning in the future too! Every step of the process was a joy and the owners really put genuine and sincere effort into their products. I could tell immediately that I wanted to buy from them because the service is simply unmatched. The price for the ring was also very reasonable and better than every other jewelry shop in the area.
