The pizza renaissance has come to Santa Clarita. I don't say this lightly. Since I moved up here 4 years ago I've been seriously missing real NYC-style slices (and generally just good pizza) that is a bit more abundant in other parts of L.A. I've done a deep-dive of what we have up here and whereas we have some spots that are generally "good" there just wasn't anything like this...until now. Slice House serves authentic and EXCELLENT pizza in a variety of styles...conceived by award-winning pizza chef Tony Gemignani, and locally owned and franchised here in Santa Clarite. The star of the show, for me, is the NYC-style slices. They're perfect...the right amount of thin and crispy on the crust...the right amount of sauce and cheese...nostalgically delicious when you order a slice and over the top great when you get a whole pie made fresh for you. My family also REALLY loves the Sweet Gino grandma-style pie...thicker crispy crust that's really indulgent with a sweet sauce, fresh mozzarella, and a pesto drizzle. I think my wife would marry one of these variations of pizzas if I wasn't around. The Detroit is pretty spectacular to look at as well...we got a purple potato pie, Detroit style...this one may have been a bit more bready than I wanted...I think I'd try the purple potato again on a thinner crust. (Also I'm a vegetarian so we got that pie without the bacon. They've got different slice offerings on different days so you're limited to that (for slices) on the particular day you're there...for most folks that's fine...for me the vegetarian it can be limiting...though of course, you can order a full pie any way you want on any day...but that's often more than me or my family can eat. On the other hand, pizza leftovers are a win for everyone for days to come. The abundant staff knows their product well and are eager to help you make the right choices. (and they're super friendly) It's definitely pricier than I want it to be which will limit the amount of times we can get it...but I definitely won't regret the expense when we do. (And if you can go there over lunch there's a great, low-priced lunch special. Being able to get pizza this good anytime I want, finally, after trying so hard with other local SCV shops the last few years, is the pizza renaissance I've so eagerly wanted. Thanks for being here, Slice House!

Slice House by Tony Gemignani, founded by the globally acclaimed 13-time world pizza champion FOOD 4/5 GMA style - Pizza crust gives off that PIZZA HUT vibe to me. 🍕4/5 - Tony’s Signature Meatballs Smothered in Marinara Sauce 🍕4/5 - Sweet Gino (grandma style) Sweet Tomato Sauce, Sliced & Ovoline Mozzarella, Basil & Sea Salt 🍕3/5 Angeleno (grandma style) - it was just too oily for me should have know from all the bacon and sausages hahaha Vodka sauce, Avorio mozzarella, Applewood smoked bacon, thick & thin cut pepperoni & sausage, ricotta, and house-made hot honey and basil SERVICE 4/5 Friendly staff members, no issues AMBIENCE 4/5 Ample space within the entire restaurant, love how everything is spaced out. I have tried a lot of pizza places and to find a good place that sells pizza by the slice that is good can be a challenge. I can say that this one is pretty good. They have different kinds of pizzas like New York style, but also traditional Detroit and Sicilian. The pizza was great and The service was quick. Went on a weekend and it was kinda busy but still found seats. Parking is easy because the malls have garages. If you want ranch or hot honey they charge but they do offer hot chili oil for the table for free. If you want whole pizzas they do that too. But getting a selection of slices and different types to share was great.

My husband and I decided to try Slice House before a movie at the nearby Regal theater. Unfortunately, our first impression wasn’t great. The spacious dining area was covered in trash — nearly every table had leftover plates, cups, or napkins. The trash cans were overflowing, and there were discarded bowls sitting on top of the condiment bar. We commented to each other about how filthy the place looked, and during our entire visit, no one made any effort to clean until we were already about to leave. Eventually, the woman who took our order (and who seemed understandably frazzled) was the only one who did anything about the mess.

On the positive side, the menu is interesting. You can choose from several pizza styles — Detroit, New York, Sicilian, or “Grandma’s Style” — and customize your toppings. They also offer about a dozen different daily specials available by the slice. We ordered a Wise Guy (New York style) and a Little Italy (Detroit style).

The recipes themselves seem solid — both pizzas had good flavor. Unfortunately, they came out lukewarm at best, with the Detroit-style pizza actually cold in the center.

Overall, while the pizza had potential, the lack of cleanliness and attention to basic food quality was disappointing. Sadly, I don’t see myself returning...
