Doodlet's — Local services in Santa Fe

We are frequent visitors to Santa Fe. Doodlets is one of my very favorite shops in Santa Fe — or anywhere for that matter. The merchandise is quirky, artistic, local, international, funky, fun, and very, very imaginative. Beautiful cards and great gifts. Over the years I have purchased many items including imported German miniatures, a beautiful wooden doll from Denmark, three Mexican santo crowns, a retablo, old silver milagros, postcards and greeting cards, victorian stamps, stocking stuffers for a cynical teenager and jewelry. You can wander for an hour or two, laughing to yourself or simply marveling at the variety. Items range from a dollar or two to over a hundred. There is simply no way to categorize this shop. The thing about shopping in Santa Fe is that there is too much to choose from, so you can burn out and end up going home with an empty suitcase. But really, you need to go to only three places. I went on a day trip to Santa Fe with the goal finding some fun and unique places. Doodlet's hit the spot! I called before hand To see if they werevopennon labor day. I spoke with the owner an shectoldcme to introduce myself when I got there. I did! She and the staff are lovely! Beautiful stationary, supplies, toys, beauty, books, cards, authentic New Mexican art, and more. This island happy place! I will be back. Take my money! So many beautiful things.

I lived that the staff had cute name tag buttons. Nicely dressed but not corporate feel. It felt welcoming and very beautiful, authentic New Mexico....

I would give this store a big fat X if I could. I am from Taos and my sister was visiting from Fla. I took her to shop in Santa Fe. We thought Doolets would be great. NOT!!! We approached the shop at 4:50 pm on Sunday Oct. 29th and the clerk blocked the doorway informing that "They close at 5 and would be open again at 10 in the morning" I told her we were from Taos and that did me no good. She didn't care. I heard her mention that it would be 6 before they got all of the customers they had out of there. Apparently they are soung so well they did not need my business and now will...
