Incredibly Rude Owner

I love river floats. I went to inquire about pricing and had one of the rudest experiences in customer service. I distinctively felt it was because I was a woman. As long as you know the owner is rude, the rest of the team is probably okay. They are the only show in town. Saratoga has wonderful restaurants, but I would raft and fish in another town. Phil the owner had no problem being rude to me twice, because I gave a second chance. Prices are high. Any party under 4 is given a price for four people. I would not recommend this place. If you have a different experience with the owner your either male or a woman he finds attractive, and I strive to be neither. Hack's is a terrific place to get all of the local information concerning not only fishing but also river conditions and even local camping (undeveloped). I emailed them about river conditions and I got a SLEW of great information.

While I was in town I stopped in and bought some lures because I wanted to support a great local business. While at the shop I saw one of the guides and asked him what he'd recommend for a lure. He recommended two - both the size and color. I caught a number of fish from shore using those lures later that day!!

This was a bucket list trip for my husband. It’s was everything he could’ve imagined and even more!! We had an all day fishing float with Vince and he has excellent knowledge of the river and all the hot spots. He was very patient with us as first timers and it didn’t take 10 years to learn how to fly fish and catch the great rainbow trout as some people cautioned us it would.
