We were excited to try this place out, but boy were we disappointed. We started out with drinks and I ordered the spicy margarita and it was good! My only issue is that the menu said it was a 12 ounce drink and it was served in a small glass not even a margarita glass and it maybe held 10 ounces and my drink was 1/2 filled with ice. They brought chips and salsa to the table, the chips were warm and crunchy, nicely seasoned. The salsa tasted like it came from a jar, not bad but not good. I saw they had queso on the menu so I ordered a side of queso. It was terrible, melted Velveeta , probably generic Velveeta. Gas station nacho cheese is way, way better. I ordered the grilled chicken burrito, my husband ordered the Navajo taco. The presentation of the burrito looked promising, but unfortunately that was the best thing about the entree. The grilled chicken in the burrito was food serviced grilled chicken with that fake grilled flavor. The rice had minimal flavor but was so sticky I bet you could use it to hang wallpaper. Rice a Roni makes better Spanish rice. The refried beans well they were beans, not sure you can ruin refried beans out of a can. My husband’s Navajo taco also looked tasty plated. Not so much, he said the beef had the texture of canned dog food and was very runny, the fry bread was edible but tasted like it wasn’t fresh just reheated. This was the most expensive bad meal I’ve had for a long time, maybe ever. The chips and salsa were gratis as per usual in Mexican restaurants but I was charged $8 for the side of melted Velveeta cheese. The maybe 6 ounce margarita was $9.50, burrito $18 and Navajo taco was $14. The service was good, we were seated right away order taken in a timely manner and our waiter was attentive. We won’t be back which is unfortunate as there isn’t many places to eat...
Read moreHaving visited several times, one thing is clear about the Cantina 2.0: it is overwhelmingly mediocre.
I love supporting local business, and I’ll visit the Cantina from time to time, but foodie beware. The food lacks originality and spice. The menu appears to cater to the taste of late stage adults from the midwest and their bland idea of cultural food.
The staff are always friendly, but by no means would i consider them attentive, at least to the table I am at.
Overall, it’s a meal. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is fine, and a little more appealing if you are in a bar booth or in the...
Read moreFood was so overpriced and very underwhelming. The margaritas were just okay. The Chorizo Queso tasted like it was just ground beef. And the Grilled chicken burrito was just that, grilled chicken nothing else. Plus it was super small, should have been two of those for the price. The service was extremely slow. They even said that another server took our burrito so we had to wait even longer. Took our an hour to get queso and a chicken burrito. Never once asked if we wanted another drink or anything else. Took extra long to get the check. I wouldn't...
