Please read the reviews before you purchase anything from international diamond company. I would like to share my experience with you because all that glitters is not gold. My wife bought me a Christmas present and got a great deal on a 14 karat gold necklace. When I seen the necklace it was the color of 24 karat gold which immediately I had reservations on whether it was real or not. I did take it to a couple respectable jewelers and at first sight they said it was gold filled with 22 karat gold over stainless steel. On December 28 my wife and I returned to International diamonds to return the necklace within the allowable 15 day. What transpired this day was and extremely unpleasant experience. Nick the owner A very charismatic and colorful character immediately attended us. He swore up-and-down that the necklace was solid gold and the exaggerated yellow color was normal because all 14 karat gold chains have a difference in color but he couldn’t produce one that was even near the color of this one. He was persistent about the color even though it looked like 24 karat he insisted that it was a normal tone due to the the way it was made and all 14 karat gold necklaces have different shades. My wife and I did not buy this explanation so he offered to have one of his jewelers test it under the condition that we have to leave it there for days. We suggested that he give us extra time so that we can have our own independent jeweler test necklace. He was still persistent that his jeweler can do it within a couple days. He finally agreed to give us an extension on his policy but what was very disconcerting was the way he went about it. First calls over one of his employees over and bluntly tells her in front of us to take video and photos of the necklace so that we don’t “switch it”. You can make your own assumption of what he meant by this and what he thought of us. My wife had mentioned to him that his reviews are questionable and he followed this with the following comment. You need to be smarter and think and use your head because these reviews are all fake. At this point compounded by the fact that he has insinuated that we were untrustworthy and now adding that my wife was stupid, reckless and ignorant. This really tested my patience with Nick. So yes, I put him in his place I was not belligerent but I was firm. He went on and called security on us and said there’s “two Hispanics threatening him and causing Him to lose business”. You can be the judge of what we went through and make your own interpretation of who this man is and how he runs his business. “A Wolf in sheep‘s clothing all that glitters is not gold”. Buyer beware! They may easily RIP YOU OFF just like they did with me! And if you read the other reviews you will see I'm not the first customer whose expensive product was DAMAGED BY THEM. On June 26, 2022, I went to international diamond company store in Woodfield Mall, besides selling jewelry they also offer jewelry services. I asked them to set my one carat newly purchased perfect looking diamond in a ring and they charged me 75 dollars for this. On 07/02 I picked up the ring, the diamond was set. When I sat in my car and looked at the ring again under the day light I noticed that there was a lot of blemishes on the surface of the stone. When I got home I tried to clean them with alcohol it didn't help. On 07/03 I came back to the store to talk to their manager and explain that when I brought the stone to them it was perfectly polished, brand new, and I just purchased it about two weeks ago and was keeping it in the box. I explained that it was their jeweler who must have damaged the surface. He started to argue with me telling that it is not possible. I told him that it was perfectly possible and this was what had happened, you can damage diamond. Most likely his jeweler kept the black diamond for too long when he was cleaning it with ultrasound after sending the stone and because of the vibrations darker blemishes went out and became visible just right on the surface. Instead of fixing this issue at no extra cost or at least refunding the money to fix their own mistake he was arguing with me trying to tell me something which was not true thinking that I do not know anything about the diamonds. For example he started to talk about clarity of the black diamond, when black diamonds do not have clarity at all, they are black, they have color that's true, but they are not evaluated based on clarity and this can be read on Gemological Institute of America website that specialize on diamonds' certification. He was just lying to my face, he did not even made an attempt to amicably resolve this dispute. I purchased this diamond for for my mother's 50th anniversary worth of 3,000 dollars and now it looks like a dirty rock. Stay away from this place . I bought lot of in this store over 20years all gold diamonds . End of January 2023 I bought here present two 14k gold earrings . When we went on Florida vacation in August 2023 we swim in Mexican gulf around 15-20min my girlfriend said wait something released on left earring she touch with fingers and hold two pieces and one stay in ear . So she found it’s completely broke so she’s automatically touch other earring and check if it’s lock and oooops again hold two broken pieces. So we have to went to hotel room put to ziplock to not loose pieces . We come back to woodfield mall and tell the story to Nick (Ahmed ? )which is manager or owner . Even his recognize me from beginning when I bought lot of products here he’s start talk to me and my girlfriend very unprofessional. And even rude his complete put us down like (yes you loose earrings in ocean and than scuba diving to find and very rude laughing from us . I try calm down him and ask why he’s try put us down he’s continue treating us like lier or garbage we both with girlfriend feel horrible than he said get out from my store and that was last drop . This person Nick or I’m not sure if it’s his real name or his lie like about all he’s product his not supposed work between people . It was absolutely night mare experience .
