For Albert's to be such a prestigious company, it was utterly disappointing and rather shocking to discover that business there is done so poorly and because people generally tend to read 5 star reviews prior to 1's, I’ve decided to list this as priority. My father had called Albert's and spoken to an associate in regards to a Roberto Coin necklace we would have liked to have been evaluated. Upon arriving at the store, we were seated with an associate by the name of Jacquelyn A. Michael, an elder white woman who was very ugly and stern throughout the duration of our interaction. Now, I am a very well known artist across the United States and must say that in all of my years of dealing in the jewelry business, I have never experienced such a pitiful and rather unpleasant transaction. My father and I presented a one-of-a-kind Roberto Coin, 20 carat diamond necklace that retailed for $85,000 to the associate. She explained that she could either (1) give us a verbal evaluation, which would consist of her taking our piece to the back to count the diamonds, size the stones, and calculate the weight of the piece or (2) we could pay a $95.00 fee in order to have Albert’s keep the piece over a 10 day time frame so that a proper, written appraisal could be done. We only wanted the basic information and agreed that it was okay to proceed with the evaluation verbally. Jacquelyn took our piece to the back for 25 minutes and upon returning she had NONE of the information she had explained that she was going to gather. She explained that she had called Roberto Coin and that the piece we had was indeed a discontinued piece and that if Albert’s were to purchase it, they would be willing to buy it for $3,000. Now, why a woman who is most likely 4x my age felt the need to insult my intelligence is beyond me. The price in which they would have bought it for was the least of our worries because we had never intended to sell it anyway and had already spoken with Roberto Coin prior to calling the store. What I found to be highly disrespectful was the fact that we waited for her to proceed with details of the piece and she just stared. My father acknowledged the information presented and asked the weight as well as size of the stones and count she had she come up with. We were told, “I didn’t really have time to measure or weigh the stones,”. I was immediately baffled because from 1:40pm I had already began to run the clock on how long my necklace lay in their hands and considering she hadn’t returned until around 2:05pm, I was very disturbed. My father then asked by ballpark just by looking at the piece if she would agree that it was roughly 20 carats? Jacquelyn responded, “possibly” with a slight shrug and twisting of the mouth. Baffled I asked, “That’s the only information you were able to gather in that amount of time?” She replied, “Yes, anything else I will have to charge you $95.00 and you’ll have to leave—” I cut her off because it was obvious this woman was so saturated with hatred, her cheeks began to turn red and her smile was stern while her face rested in between quick chatters of me speaking. I asked what was the standard procedure for an evaluation and she questioned my meaning, which was the obvious of the question, “WHAT IS THE STANDARD PROCEDURE FOR AN EVALUATION?”. She replied, “We take a photo of the piece, –” I butted in to ask if she had taken a photo of my piece and she quickly snapped back “No,”, which means Albert’s is not a company of their word, their associate failed to operate in not only a professional manner but simply follow proper protocol. I am highly considering sharing this experience with my fanbase of over 70,000+ followers on Tik Tok as I am a very well known public figure and in no way do I think my fans will enjoy hearing the Queen speak of this. If you want to continue to uphold a good name, hire employees who aren’t uncontrollably emotionally overwhelmed just because a black royal family walks into a high end store. Realize that you have an expiration date just as I do and live a...
Read morePlease if you value your jewelry and it’s precious to you, do not bring your jewelry to this place. The first time I came was last year a little before my wedding to have my ring sized. The day I came to pick up my ring they tried to hand me back my BRAND NEW engagement ring with a side stone missing as if I wasn’t going to notice. When I brought it to their attention they proceeded to take the ring back to “fix” it and this is time gave my ring back with a completely different color stone, that looked old and dirty and was probably scrap laying around somewhere as it had a yellow hue to it. Again brought it to their attention and they “replaced”. I should’ve learned my lesson, fast forward needless to say that same stone came out recently and I took the ring to be repaired, they had the the ring for 3 weeks and when I called to check to see when I could pick up my ring they wanted 3 more weeks. To replace a small tiny accent diamond? No way, I informed the lady that I would pick my ring up and she told me to hold on and she would speak with the jeweler, so she comes back and miraculously my ring will be ready in a couple of days. Strange, since she told me that they were backed up and it was taking longer for the diamonds to come in, now miraculously they have some. Kate begged me not to take the ring and to leave my ring there and she would refund my payment. Reluctantly I agreed, Anyway I pick up my ring and immediately took it James and Son’s because I needed resizing, when the inspected the ring to quote me a price for resize I was informed that there was a small crack or chip in my center stone!! Upon further inspection it looked as if Alberts removed one my diamonds from the side, placed it in the spot that needed repair and put some other miscellaneous gem in the one they moved because again it’s cloudy, a different color and certainly not the original stone. This place is very untrustworthy and deceptive and I should’ve never trusted them with my precious ring. I will never go back! Please make sure you do a close inspection of jewelry if you get repairs they will swap stones, damage your jewelry and hand it back to you as if nothing happened. Luckily I went to James and Son’s and had it checked other wise I might...
