I had an amazing evening as I celebrated my baby brother, who is essentially like my own son as I played a huge part in his life raising him‼️ On Saturday, March,31, 2025 we celebrated his 33rd year right here at the newly opened Cooper’s Hawk here in Schereville and I highly recommend this restaurant for your dining pleasure! Our server was the awesomely talented Jacqueline‼️‼️ Jaqueline went above and beyond the call of duty remaining top tier level professional‼️🙌🙌🙌🙌 Jacqueline and the staff was serving 10’s across the board from the front desk to the table‼️‼️ By the way, I did happen to meet a young lady by the name of Ella who isn’t 21 years of age yet, if my memory serves me correctly, she is a busser who was helping out the front of the house staff amazingly, In fact, I remember speaking with her from dropping of flowers & dessert for my reservation a little earlier that eve before my reservation that’s how I got to know her‼️ Olivia is an excellent addition to your front desk team as well because of the way she handled me from speaking with me initially over the phone a few times, to my arrival with party for my reservation‼️ Olivia left no stone unturned, she was friendly, passionate, professional, knowledgeable of the restaurant, considerate and kind, as she and Jaqueline anticipated my needs and helped my party through & awesome evening ‼️ I remember telling Ella that I thought she’d make an excellent server and that she was in the right business and could go a long way in the business and she graciously thanked me having told me that she really enjoyed working at Coopers Hawk‼️ Kudos to Jaqueline my server for being so superb in her service to our table, Olivia host extraordinaire and to the beautiful and talented Ella (busser) who helped out the front desk team with passion, enthusiasm, and excellence as she escorted my party and I to our perfect table telling us things about the restaurant along the way, Ms. Ella is a diamond scheduled to be a super star in this business thank you for hiring such a stellar staff‼️ There was a manager by the name of Jason who stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying our evening and had everything we needed‼️ Kudos to this amazing restaurant & staff‼️‼️‼️

GNAT INFESTATION! I drove from Chicago to dine and participate in tastings with a longtime friend who had never been to Cooper’s Hawk. Unfortunately, what was meant to be an enjoyable experience turned out to be extremely disappointing and embarrassing due to a severe gnat infestation at the restaurant. Upon being seated, I immediately noticed a gnat on my menu. At first, I dismissed it as minor, but once our meals arrived, the issue became unavoidable. As soon as my toast hit the table, multiple gnats began hovering around, and one even landed directly on my food. I continuously swatted them away, only to later notice one on my plate as well. Our server, Dezaray (apologies if I’ve misspelled her name), later informed us that the restaurant has been dealing with an ongoing gnat infestation and has “bombed” the building over the past few nights to address it. When we asked to speak with a manager (whose name I unfortunately did not catch), she confirmed that this issue has been persistent but stated that they were told by the state it was acceptable to remain open because “the gnats are not in the kitchen.” Based on what I personally witnessed, I find that hard to believe. In addition to the dining area, the gnats were also present in the tasting room, which made that part of the experience equally unpleasant. For a location that prides itself on its wine-tasting environment, this was especially disappointing and unsanitary. While my meal was eventually comped, I do not feel that was sufficient given the severity of the situation. The experience was disturbing, unsanitary, and not reflective of the quality or standards I’ve come to associate with Cooper’s Hawk. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak directly with someone from your corporate or management team regarding this matter and to better understand how this situation is being handled. I am deeply concerned that this location remains open despite an active infestation. Not only is it unappetizing, but it also raises serious food safety and public health concerns. Guests deserve to be notified prior to dining or tasting if such an issue exists, and I sincerely hope this is addressed promptly.

I’ve been to multiple Cooper’s Hawks being that I’m a wine club member And this one’s gotta be the worst one! There’s always A problem with service. Today they are out of 11 sweet wines. A time before then I notified them of me being allergic to a food allergy. The waitress wrote down my request of the allergy and when I receive my food, it had the items that I was allergic to which is red onions on it and she goes. I’m so sorry. Let me take it back. It comes out five minutes later And I asked the lady wasn’t that fast for it to come back. I politely asked her to be honest with me if they could go to the kitchen and ask if they picked it off my food because if not, they’re gonna have to call me an ambulance and the waitress went back there and the cooks admitted to picking the red onions off of the food and when I requested something else, they said, unfortunately the kitchen is closed I said can I at least have a soup they said, unfortunately everything’s closed off at 9 they couldn’t serve me anymore. A manager gave me a meal for one ticket, which is uncalled for as a manager to be aware of the situation. The first time I ever went there they accuse Of running off on my tab, which was $$23 and some change at the bar came running after me even though I was waiting in the line for pick up for bottles stating that I didn’t pay my tab. I asked the woman to go back and check the cameras before accusing someone because I even gave a $10 tip on top of $24 and didn’t ask for the change back. I said please do not accuse me of stealing. If you haven’t checked the cameras, I demanded for a manager to check them and all of a sudden the $20 came up and they were like sorry we made a mistake. We found it on the floor but the point of all of it was, I was embarrassed in front of the whole Restaurant that they accuse me of Running out on my bill. Nothing but bad service bad management!!!

First time visit at the Schereville store, we were elated to only live 5 minutes away. Had 8:15 pm reservation on Saturday evening, got seated immediately which impressed us, but not for long. As we were being seated at a booth, next to an aisle of tables, we couldn't take our coats off because the tables were so close and we feared that we would knock something over on their table or hit someone with our coats before we got into the booth. Also, it was extremely loud and couldn't carry a conversation at our booth, even though we sat right across from each other, most of our conversation was "never mind, I'll tell you later." Waited over 30 minutes for our server to come to our booth, very friendly, however she never asked if we were wine club members, if we wanted a tasting, or brought bread and water. She only asked if we wanted something to drink or an appetizer to order. We ordered the egg rolls and some wine tastings along with a bottle of Sweet Red, which they were out of, so opted for Red Romance. When the wine was brought, the metal wine chiller was disgustingly dirty, it was smeared with what looked like chocolate or brown gravy, I was surprised the server didnt see it. We then also asked for some water and bread. 30 minutes the egg rolls finally come out by a food runner. We love those egg rolls, but they seemed to have been sitting for a while, they were over cooked, dry and slightly warm, we waited for the server to come check, but she never did, we definitely would have expressed our discontent. I ordered the short rib risotto which I've had many times at the Merrillville site, it didn't compare. The portion was much smaller, it was runny, had tiny shreds of short rib and again lukewarm. I will say the best thing I had was the dessert, the S'more Boudino. My sister ordered dessert to go, the Banoffee pie, what a joke, looked nothing like it should have if you ordered at tableside. It was less than half of what you'd get. That's when we waived our server over and asked for a manager. He was very nice and apologetic, took the dessert off. When asked is the Banoffee supposed to look like this, he replied no. It literally was in one of those mini tinfoil pie pans with loose Graham cracker crust, no more than 2 tbs of pudding and soupy whip cream. It was not a pleasant experience, and are contemplinating about returning back. Wished pics would have been...
