Absolute joke. This is the WORST AJ's in the valley, by a VERY wide margin. I suspect Basha's being purchased by Raleys has something to do with it. They probably pay their employees in handfuls of dirt. There's 4 things I buy regularly and have been for years but for some reason, the staff they have now are incapable of keeping the shelves stocked! When I ask about the items, I was met with a sob story about their role in the company instead of "sorry sir, let me get that for you right away!" like you'd expect. 5 times in a row this has happened. Today stood out alone as the worst experience I've had not just in an AJ's but in any grocery store in the valley. I was in the deli area waiting my turn to be served, there was one customer being served and then myself, as this was early in the morning and the store wasn't busy. The employee finished with her customer and starts walking my way, then another customer walks up and she helps this customer despite the fact I had been standing there for 5 minutes! I says "go ahead, I'm not in a hurry today" and neither the nasty customer nor the absent minded employee acknowledged what just happened. I'd be mortified to do that to someone in a grocery store but here it seems the customers are OK with it, likely because the employees allow it to happen. At the checkout stand I was met with even more nastyness from the employees! I've noticed that every single person in this store has something to say to you, some sort of comeback. They can't just do their job and wear a smile, they have to push their nasty attitude off to you and make their problems your problems. I have given this place more than enough chances to correct their mistakes, I've spoken with the manager once, and I've even filled out a feedback form on their website with no followup or reply whatsoever, so I'm done with them. This AJ's store is dead to me. Luckily there's no shortage of other AJ's locations close to here and all of them are like a different planet in terms of customer service. They all offer the type of customer service that I remember from AJ's when I was younger. The other stores are an absolute treat! I can't be the only one noticing how much this location has rolled downhill this year. Never again will I set foot in this store....
Read moreVery disappointed as the sushi options and quality were not nearly as good as the 101 and Pima location. The rice was hard and not seasoned well. Neither was the pizza. The crust was thin(not typical for AJ's), cheese was dark and really salty. They all looked old. Everything in the hot section looked old and dark. The cookies and bakery are the only saving grace. I wish they could be rated separately because they deserve a 5 star. The sushi a 2. Hot food 0. Management 0. I tried to offer feedback to the manager via phone call when I got home and tested everything. I could tell from her tone and response that she wasn't that interested in hearing my opinions or correcting anything. So where I typically give the manager an opportunity to change things before leaving a review, I'm not confident that this will be corrected. So I will warn you, the...
Read moreI usually love AJ’s but had a disappointing experience here. I went in to look at the bakery and get an iced tea. I saw there were some gluten free cakes and wanted to get one for my boyfriend who has a few allergies (soy, gluten/wheat, corn, nuts, etc.). I asked the individuals working if they had an ingredient list for the cake so I could ensure it didn’t have any of his allergens but they told me they do not have a list of ingredients for any of their baked goods. I found this incredibly irresponsible. Allergies are a very serious issue and places should not sell items that they cannot tell you the ingredients of. While allergies are my bigger concern, I do think having ingredient lists for foods is important for everyone because people deserve to be able to know what they are putting...
