This place has the worst customer service. The owner, Kathy Wang, is very unprofessional and rude. She did not do the courtesy of providing a refund for the drinks that tested bland. Both of the owners lied about providing customer satisfaction guarantee. She refused to resolved the situation in an ethical manner, and did not follow through with her initial responses to provide a full refund for the poor service. Then she even had the guts to gaslight me and turn the tables to seem like I was in the wrong. She told me with a snarky attitude "I suspect this fraud, how do I know you guys ordered drinks?" Just because she did not want to take any further action. She complained about claiming to have spent a lot of time looking up the transaction, when it’s a super easy task to do. Then again flat out lied to my face.
Additionally, I would not have gone at lengths to email them with evidence and proof of the bank transaction if I was lying about this. I showed the owners the screenshot of the transaction and provided the correct card information. They still denied it. Also, the two drinks we ordered were overpriced and the matcha was not mixed well. Matcha lattes are supposed to be smooth. We ordered the ube and pineapple matcha latte, both tasted terrible. They definitely lacked flavor and the ingredients are low quality. You would expect they use natural and decent quality ingredients for the price you’re paying, but they don’t. The matcha lattes are not anywhere close to or up to par with other matcha places.
Clearly, they are not willing to provide a satisfactory customer experience and apologize sincerely for the situation. It's disappointing to know that these business owners have no moral compass. This is not how you run a business, the customers experience should be a top priority. These owners seem like pretty shady people. I do not recommend coming here. I regret making the decision to come here and would not rely to heavily on...
Read moreOne of the most special milk tea shops in Seattle, Atulea has a menu that stands out from many of the more run-of-the-mill milk tea shops in the area. I'm normally somewhat skeptical when i see a store this well decorated (instagrammable is a word that comes up a lot) as I find some places rely more on aesthetics than quality to attract customers, but Atulea is a pleasant exception that has both! Unique flavors include lychee rose black tea, grape oolong, and peach jasmine green tea, as well as seasonal specials and a rich selection of traditional teas such as gyokuro and hojiicha which you normally don't see offered. The real highlight of Atulea however is there whole section dedicated to matcha drinks, sweet and unsweetened. As a matcha fan who's been cutting down of coffee lately, I've been surprised to realize how few cafes actually serve matcha, and when they do what I usually get seems little more than green milk. Milk tea stores are more likely to have matcha offerings, but the quality of the drink is usually not any better. Not so for Atulea who use great tasting matcha and don't skimp. Even better, you can pay a bit more for extra matcha if its still not strong enough for you. The normal matcha latte is my go to, but try one of their other offerings if you're in the mood for something sweeter. A matcha mocha might sound odd, but it's surprisingly tasty! Great to have this place in the city, I don't know of anywhere else...
Read moreI was not expecting this place to pass expectations, but it kinda did. On top of that, I wasn't expecting white people boba to be this delicious? LOL
I came here when me and my friend was trying to search for a boba place around capitol hill, and I was just walking around with him in the park just down the street. It was just a regular exercise type of day and I just wanted to satisfy a boba craving.
We arrived, and omg during a weekday afternoon the place was already full and packed with tons of people sitting in their seatings spots. Was not expecting this place to be popular, but it seems so. Good for them! And then we proceeded to order drinks. I got their Hojicha something something boba. I might have told them half sweet with pearls, I really don't remember anymore. I only have like 1 photo of the place and it was the outside because there were no more seating within the establishment.
After my first sip of the boba, I was surprised, white people do a great boba. The Hojicha was perfectly bitter and creamy at the same time. On top of that the pearls were delicious and perfectly sweetened. I would still give them 4 stars for their drinks and how amazing it was. I might be coming back? But we will see in the future!...
