I’ve been going here for years, and enjoyed the classes. I was never able to afford the full membership as it’s around $200 for the unlimited class package. However, they were offering a promotion that made the unlimited package $25 a month. I was over the moon excited. Unfortunately I should’ve read the fine print more carefully. They require 30 written notice of cancellation (which was news to me, new policy? Not exactly sure but I’ve had memberships with them in the past that did not need a written cancellation notice). So they want you to call and cancel the day you get the membership but they don’t inform you of this policy until your contract comes in an email and unfortunately mine did not come until 3 days after I purchased. I tried to freeze my account and they confirmed at receptions they would be able to do that with a “freeze fee”. Okay fine, can’t afford the $200 now so bad no choice but to agree. Then when I checked my bank balance they had processed the entire fee. Taking my rent money out of my account after we both agreed on a freeze for 90 days to decide what to do. They made it clear I wouldn’t be able to simply cancel, I would have to pay for another month. Whether I consented or not. My plan was to wait a few months and then get the most inexpensive package they have which still comes out to around $110 for 4 classes. None of this should have happened but I realize sometimes there are clerical errors. No big deal, so I call and let them know the situation & they let me know there would be no refund whatsoever. They had no record of my request to freeze (apparently you have to put that in writing as well? But that’s not what the receptionis told me at the studio). Not only that, but they were incredibly rude and spoke over my the whole time, talking down to me like what did I expect? I kept asking her to please just let me finish my thought & she kept interrupting me and talking over me. Then she accused me of having a “messy argument” with the receptionist which is absolutely NOT the case. & to be honest I resent the implication. Even her tone (Veronica) was confrontational and completely unnecessary. I’m mortified as it is, I would love nothing more than to be able to afford $200 a month for spin classes but that’s just not where I am in my life right now. I’ve been going here for years and I felt so judged that I couldn’t afford it. I went to them all throughout covid, even when they were doing classes at other studios and outside. I honestly don’t think I can ever go back, knowing they view their customers this way. I’ve told friends about CycleBar and referred dozens of people to try a class with them & I couldn’t be more disappointed in their handling of this situation. Having a little empathy goes a long way, and I wish they’d done better. So I’m having to deal with my bank to get the refund that I simply cannot afford. They seem much more understanding of the situation and informed me this is a common tactic for Elite studios to try and bait and switch customers. Hopefully they handle the situation timely and I’m able to move on. If you’re paying them they’re the sweetest people but when you can’t any longer, they’ll treat you like a problem they don’t want to deal with (that’s putting it kindly). *In response to your reply of my review; Like I stated, I spoke with the woman at the front desk and asked her to please put my account on a freeze until I was able to sort out what my options would be. I am aware you do not have a $25 monthly membership and that it was a promotion. Upon further review, you sent an email with an attachment at the very bottom (an email that looked like a promotional email). The email I received days later, did clearly show the terms of the studio but by then it was too late to do anything, you know exactly what you’re doing. The way you’ve handled this situation is beyond disappointing, like I said I’ve been coming to cycle bar for 4 years now. The bait and switch is just wrong, & you it. The staff was rude and condescending, to say the...
Read moreThis review is overdue, but I think I have ample information for you able CycleBar SLU!
I joined a little over a year ago, and in my year I have taken over 200 classes. The community and environment they have built makes it so easy to keep taking more and more. I feel like a I joined a cult, in a good way.
I often taken the early morning, 5:45 am, classes. It’s the perfect way to start the day. The instructors are energetic and upbeat, and always know how to motivate me to add one more gear or increase my speed a few more RPMs. The showers at the studio for after class are nothing to write home about, but I’m happy to have the option to shower and head straight to work. If you come early in the morning you get a parking spot right out front!
The afternoon classes are even more spectacular somehow. Probably because I have food in my stomach and more energy to burn, but it’s rare if I don’t burn 300 calories in those classes. Parking is a bit more difficult, but I’ve never had to park more than a block away.
Weekend classes are awesome too, I’ve been talked into doing doubles on a few occasions and it’s surprisingly easier than you’d think.
This studio is amazing, but you get exactly what you put into it. If you come looking for a great workout with great inspiring instructors you’ll get it. If you come looking for a chill workout to recover from a long work week...
Read moreThis cyclebar has the worst staff and customer service I have ever seen literally anywhere. If you want to get randomly charged and your contract agreements signed for you go here. I have had the worst experience with them over the phone having to call repeatedly and not answering the phone. The woman Leslie is extremely rude and talked over me the entire time and did not want to listen to what I had to say. This franchise location is running on their instructors bc obvi it’s not the manager or sales reps that are keeping customers in. They only care about the sale and do not disclose important information and they even have you repeat a code as a way of signing a document. I paid for a 4 class membership $54 and was charged a total of $200 bc the payment bounced when they decided to charge my card weeks in advance. They gave me 4 classes in advance but when they decided to charge my card it bounced and they took it off my app, which sucks btw it’s terribly engineered. I specifically said I was moving away a week before and couldn’t attend classes. I do NOT recommend this location in Seattle, , I’d rather drive to Tacoma bc definitely will save more money than having these people stealing from you. Definitely never...
