This hotel is a good example of form over function. The hotel itself is beautiful, very cute looking and cozy. The room is a mashup between an industrial aesthetic and contemporary modern. The problems, however, were with the function of the room. It also was beautiful, but given it's size, not well thought through and missing some of the fundamentals of a good hotel. Over the course of my stay, I ran into the wall-folding desk at least twice a day, and the shower shelf (which is located at elbow height right next to the showerhead) at least 3 times each time I took a shower. The desk left a bruise on my hip from how often I ran into it. The toilet seat is unusually large making it actually uncomfortable to sit on. It feels like you're going to fall in. There isn't a chair in the room, although there's a desk, but my bigger gripe was with the lack of a microwave or fridge. I would have loved to have brought some of my leftovers home, but had nowhere to store it. Finally, on a more unrelated note to the rest of the points, I was a bit disappointed that the hotel had no toiletries available even to buy. I had forgotten to pack a toothbrush and was a bit disappointed I had to trek out around town just to pick up something so basic. It would be great if Moxy would keep some toiletries for guests who forget in stock at least in their gift shop if not for free. Overall, it was a good stay, but lots of room for improvement

The staff here are really nice, and the bar area is cute. The rooms however, you should know what you’re getting into before arriving. The rooms are designed for solo travels that are here for work, mostly Amazon buildings. There’s no closet so you hang your close on hangers that line the wall. The rooms only have a bed, chair, and little bench next to the bed. The bathrooms are minimal also, but provide storage under the sink. The bed was uncomfortable as it was really hard. There were 4 pillows and they all had almost no filling inside. It was near impossible to rest, and I ended up with severe back pain after the second night. My room was pretty quiet since it wasn’t off the main street. When waiting for the elevator, you can hear people’s showers. The walls are pretty thin. I could also hear the room next to me open their blinds. My tv kept shutting off every 20 minutes or so, there was no coffee, no refrigerator, no microwave, no ironing board in the room. They told me this at check in. Their accommodation is to provide a ticket for a free adult beverage or coffee. I stayed two nights and only got one ticket. They should’ve given one ticket for how many nights you’re staying to accommodate not having coffee available. I was only told about the free coffee downstairs when I was checking out. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again. You can pay the same rate at a nearby hotel and get better room accommodations.

Overall, I enjoyed the stay. The hotel was trendy and nice. The activities in the lobby are neat but the lack of bar service during our stay made the lobby more like a dead zone. The selection in the "market" left a lot to be desired... at least have more than one type of chocolate. Staff was mostly friendly. The room itself was small but clean. Very minimalist. One trash can in the bathroom only. Awkwardly placed microwave but no fridge. No lotion. Enjoyed the on demand showtime and Netflix on the TV. They do not have parking. There is a public underground parking structure available right next door and found it to be a pretty affordable option on the weekend considering how much downtown hotels typically charge for parking. The location is great. It's in the middle of the Amazon campus but there are coffee shops, restaurants, drug stores, all within a couple blocks. Most stay open through weekend. Easy walk to other South Lake Union hotspots like Flat Stick Pub and Art Marble, etc. Easy to get around to other parts of town by car or rideshare.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE OLD! After reading that sentence you may think there is some sort of discrimination taking place. That is not the case. My meaning is, if you are old at heart, stuffy, and stiff, this is not the hotel for you. This is DEFINATELY THE HOTEL FOR YOU IF YOU ARE YOUNG AT HEART, no matter what your actual age is. Allow me to explain.

This Marriott brand (Moxy) is probably the most eclectic borderline eccentric within the Marriott chain. Take a look at the pictures to see what I mean. Moxy isn't for people who like to stay in their room. The desk, closet, and general living space in your room is minimalist. Moxy is designed to entice you to come down to the lobby and meet people. Relax by the fire with a drink, play some board games with new friends you've met minutes ago. Get some pool tips from the shark you met at the bar. Moxy is an experience, it's not simply a place to "hang your hat" while you're in town.

Located in a heart of the downtown Seattle area, the hotel is close to more than few restaurants and the famed lake Washington area. Unfortunately due to it's location, parking is... troublesome. On street parking is available, while finding a spot isn't terribly problematic, it is nonetheless inconvenient.

The staff, specifically management staff is stellar. I can't recall her name, (Black/African American Female) was friendly, helpful, personable, and jovial. During our stay my wife and I bumped into her delivering someone's Door Dash to their room. Many Hotels will simply call you to come down to pick it up. Days before our check in I arranged to have a refrigerator and microwave in our room. Sadly, once we arrived in our room, neither were present. After a few minutes she arranged the maintenance staff to deliver and "hook up" the refrigerator and microwave.

Last but not least... the gym. I enjoy working out, whether traveling or not. Not only does the gym have ellipticals, bikes, and treadmills, it has what a guy like me love to have in a gym, heavy weights and surprisingly a punching bag with gloves! Additionally if you like Pilates and strength bands, you'll find equipment for you as well.

Before booking, take a look at the pictures to see what you are getting. As I said, the room is minimalistic, no closet but you will find wall hooks and hangers for your clothes. For a desk you'll have a makeshift table for any work you might conduct on your laptop. Yet as I said in the beginning of this review, Moxy isn't designed for you to stay in your room for long, it's for meeting people and having a good time (pre pandemic). Remember what...

This was not my first stay here. However, from the first stay three months prior to this stay, the hotel quality has decreased on many levels. The man at check-in was not friendly. My room preferences are set to far from elevator and away from vending. When I checked in, he gave me the room immediately Off the elevator. Besides the noise associated with this location, as a female traveling alone, I’m not comfortable with this room location. I did not even enter the room. I went back to the desk and politely as for a new room location. After an eye roll and scoff, he reluctantly gave me a new room stating “but you’ll have to take one on a lower floor.” Obviously this was fine. His attitude about it was not. On to the room… the stick for the giant curtain was broken so it was difficult to close it completely because of the chair that’s in the way. The only viable tiny desk that you can use for a work space was now taken up by a microwave. Why? There is no fridge so why would you place a microwave in the only useful space of the room? This table the microwave is now sitting on is a folding table. Because the microwave is there, you can’t lift it up. This is a fantastic thigh and hip gouger at 2am when you need to go to the restroom in the middle of the night. There’s just a little over a foot of space between the edge of that table’s corner and the bed. It’s awful now. So no need to stay here if you’re on business travel. You have no where to sit and work! The bathroom is semi clean, the body wash and shampoo dispenser did not work so I had to use the hand soap for body wash. Thankfully I brought my own shampoo! There was hair in the base of the shower. The tray for the shower along with the pump for the broken shampoo dispenser had what appears to be mildew or something that looked gross on there. A deep bathroom clean is definitely in order. If your on leisure travel, want an ok bar and mediocre room at a decent price, stay here. If you’re on business travel, pick a better place. Definitely do not book you’re executives here if you’re an...

Not much to like here though. It's a Marriott product. The hotel is nothing like anything you'd ever seen with a Marriott name on it. Rooms are tiny with nothing in them, including any sort of refrigerator, coffee, ironing board, or any other things that you may find useful in a hotel room. There's no desk space. There's no seating and no space in the bathroom quick things. Imagine a Spartan rouge?. Don't bother. Try to eat it in the room because there's absolutely no place to sit down. Restaurant food or breakfast is not available here. They offer some food items kind of like you'd see on a a train or something where they heat it up in device behind the bar . Oh, and don't bother thinking you're going to get up and down to your room quickly since one of the two elevators is broken. Oh, and why you're at it? I was visiting during one of the really hot periods in August and unfortunately the air conditioning units are unreliable since my room. The thermostat didn't work properly and the heating wouldn't go off. I got switched to another room and believe it or not the exact same thing was taking place and I understand now that it's a recurring problem that they're aware of. Fortunately they took me to a third room that the AC was working on and made my stay tolerable. Wow! What a mistake. I made booking this place.

Update: so I've stayed another night since my booking is for three nights and they eventually got me to a room where the AC was working and I went down to use the tokens they gave you when you check in for free espresso or a drink. So since I don't drink I went for the espresso in the morning and guess what their espresso machine was broken and now the tokens are useless to me. So instead I decided to go for the free drip coffee which at the time I was there was unavailable since it was still being made at 8:30 in the morning. And I guess the redeeming value of all this is the reality that there's a Starbucks, only a few hundred yards away, which is a really nice one that's operated very well and it's not...
