The food is the only good thing here.

Get their food to go.

Service is bad. Actually terrible. Especially from either one of those tiny waitresses servers. Who dress in shiny red shirts. Their behavior is almost you can call it disrespectful. Careless.

Maybe owner is not paying them good enough , may be owner is mistreating them. Maybe they think they are too good to work here.

Maybe they have resentment towards working there, for whatever reason they have ,so they treat the customers real bad.

Dirty spacious place. Their restroom is not maintained.

Their soap dispensers are empty most of the time, and if full then the soap is diluted, and thinned out with so much water. How cheap is that.

Their workers don't wash hands with soap when they use restroom. How nasty is that. Hygiene here is at their least priorities Very high prices compared to the little portions they serve.

They will shorten, and skim your meal portion , and will claim that is their normal meal portions.

Watch out from their add on prices.

Management will rip you off if you don't pay attention to what you are going to pay. They already did multiple times

Lots of dishonesty behaviors, and actions going on here. Please watch out

Large menu selections

Convenient location.

Parking lot is crowded, sketchy characters loitering around , waiting to break in cars. Hide your valuable . Keep eyes open on your car while parked there

If you are vegetarian and in or simply visiting Seattle, Moonlight has to be on your list. This is heavenly for vegetarians and not just because of the array of different vegetarian "meats", but because of the way they are incorporated into wonderfully prepared traditional dishes. Standouts for us were of course the noodle soups for which Moonlight is justly known, particularly the special pho. Being a vegetarian usually means it doesn't matter where you go for pho, because it's always the same thinly flavored broth that you desperately try to liven with basil and lime and soy and chili. At Moonlight, on the other hand, the vegetarian pho broth is rich and dense and so full of flavor that for once I didn't feel left out of the pho party my meat-eating friends were enjoying. We also dug the royal noodles (spicy though!) and the Singapore noodles. And the eggplant was beyond amazing. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it. Finally, I have to call out the Chicken Katsu Banh Mi. OMG. I have attacked every lemongrass tofu Banh Mi in the city, and - with all apologies to Saigon Deli - nothing touches the Chicken Katsu Banh Mi at Moonlight. If nothing else, go for one of these pickly, creamy, robust wonders. And lest you think this place is only for vegetarians, I will note that the last time we went, we took along to confirmed carnivores who are also ID connoisseurs, and they both agreed it was...

Warning to vegan folks: the vegan menu is not fully vegan. We found out that the chow mein that has egg noodles isn’t vegan, despite the menu saying 100% vegan everywhere. The Thai iced tea needs to be requested vegan with almond milk and no half and half. I’m hoping that the jelly in the three-bean dessert isn’t made with gelatin and is actually vegan. It’s hard to trust given the other unspecified non-vegan items on the vegan menu.

If the owners can’t have a separate vegetarian vs vegan menu, I’d suggest clearly marking what’s not vegan. Otherwise, their menu stating 100% vegan on every section doesn’t make sense. You’re going to be getting a lot of patrons specifically looking for vegan foods, so mislabeling is quite dangerous.

I’d love for management to address this so I can update this review to 5 stars. I loved the place: great service from the staff, delicious food, and sizeable portions. The vegan salmon had such a unique texture with the inside being soft and the outside being crispy. The fast service was fantastic. The large, separate vegan menu was really nice.

I want this place to do well. That’s why I’m giving this 2 stars instead of 1. But they need to label accurately. Once that’s done, I’m happy to bring this up to 5 stars. Also, it’d be so nice if the new owners brought back karoake, but I get why that might not mesh with their...

Wow! What a wonderful surprise. This is the spot if you want the option of vegetarian AND meats. The selection here is vast, and everything is incredibly fresh. There is limited parking that is shared with the family mini-mart next door. Street parking is also available, I would personally park on 20th with Jackson St being a pretty busy street. The outside is very lackluster, but that's a complete change on the inside. They are VERY clean and well-kept. They are rated a Excellent by Food & Safety. They have (2) separate menus for strickly vegatarian options, basically marked "V" for Vegetarian or "M" for Meats. They take the order by memory, so do yourself a favor and go slow and make sure you double-check that they got it right. No tea was served, but the water they provided was noticeablely good. It was fresh and didn't taste like they took it from the tap, so that says a lot. That set the table for the entire experience. Everything we ordered was delicious and incrediblely fresh. The pricing was spot on. To note, there was no anise in the phó or any taste of anything artificial. Service was average, they did not come around to refill our water or ask how our food was or bring us our check but they were friendly, and the order was taken correctly. Midas 5-stars for the fresh and delicious foods.

At the suggestion of one of the staff, we tried their new dish, the vegan orange shrimp and grilled pork & eggroll vermicelli. It was delicious and we highly recommend. Will definitely be back to explore other items on their menu! Edit: 7/22/24: I recently had the pleasure of trying the new Crab Fried Rice at Moonlight Cafe. It included 4 Big Shrimps, and it was an absolute delight. The dish arrived beautifully presented, with generous portions of succulent crab meat and four impressively large shrimp that were perfectly cooked. The fried rice itself was a harmonious blend of flavors, with just the right amount of seasoning that complemented the sweetness of the crab and the savory taste of the shrimp. The rice was light and fluffy, avoiding any greasiness that can sometimes accompany fried dishes. Each bite was a burst of goodness. In short, the Crab Fried Rice is a must-try.
