I have felt apprehensive to workout after having a baby—for many reasons. Concerned about keeping up in a class, worried about the time it takes and being away from my family, and not being strong enough.
Everything about how Left Side CrossFit operates addressed those fears. Class times starting on the half hour makes a big difference when you want to workout earlier but 4pm or 5pm are not possible—530pm is perfect. Getting out the door in time is harder than ever, but the understanding and encouragement from the coaches when you are able to get there.
I can feel less intimidated about a workout because I know there will be support to scale or adjust. Double under with a jump rope are not happening after having a baby. IYKYK

Read moreThis gym is something special. It's one of those places that is only part gym, but also community. After only having gone to a few classes, I was in a coffee shop near by, and one of the other members saw me—he called me by name to say hello and ask how my day was going. I was somewhat surprised, but in the time since, I've found that level of paying attention to each other and being welcoming is only par for the course at Left Side.
The work outs themselves? Prepare to get pukey and feel like you can lift your arms. The equipment is well maintained and clean, the workouts are tough, and the coaching is on point. You will get a burn. And not only that, but the coaches make a huge effort to get to know everyone individually. If there's something you need modification for, they're usually thinking about it before you even show up to class and they help make sure you're still going to get your money's worth from the workout.

Read moreDropped in at Left Side and couldn't be happier with my experience. I am a gym owner myself, and when I visit a gym I like to withhold this information so that I can gather info about intake process and how new clients are handled without being treated differently.
The staff at Left Side was very welcoming and introduced us to the class, asked about injuries/ experience, and conducted a great first experience. The space was pristine and class was friendly, to the point where it almost didn't feel like my first visit. I will be back when visiting Seattle and I highly recommend this gym to anyone who may be shopping and is a bit nervous to...
