Northgate Station Parking Garage — Local services in Seattle

The signage to find free transit parking is extremely confusing and needs to be improved. I was there on a Saturday morning expecting to park for free (or for a nominal amount) and take light rail to Capitol Hill. But there were signs everywhere for $15/day transit parking--on a SATURDAY? Now I believe there may have been free transit parking that I couldn't find, but I still don't know for sure. I decided to drive to Capitol Hill rather than pay $15+ transit fare- found 4 hour street parking for $2, which was all I needed so it worked out. The parking was a frustrating experience because the signage was so bad/confusing! And the information on the internet is not...

CONFUSING TRAP: Roof of the parking garage is owned by the mall and are paid, all floors below are own by sound transit and are free, this can get confusing especially since the mall intentionally made it hard to get from the roof (accessed from the north) to the other floors (accessed from the south east).

However once you figure this out and approach from the south, the rest of it is a well designed setup with easy and simple access to the transit...

There is not enough parking near Northgate parking light rail. It's full early a.m. the free parking is unsafe and there are several prowlers in and around the parking. There is no parking overnight. People who park want to get to the SeaTac airport and drive their car to the lot and return in a couple days have very limited over the top $$$ expenses to...
