So, went here for a quick bite with mother in law before going into the theater to watch a WW1 film (from Peter Jackson, 'They Shall Not Grow Old').
The location is perfect (especially for my 88yr old companion), tables and chairs are plenty, the staff were friendly, and ordering was fast.
But for the cost of one cheeseburger and fries - no drink, vis a vis taste, quality and presentation, I felt very much disappointed. I got my order in a narrow paper bag with the burger at the bottom and the fries spilled on top. The only way to reach the burger was to carefully tilt to let out the fries onto the table - which I had to cover with layers of napkin to make a plate.
The burger was greasy and bland, the fries were warm but limp. I could have ordered 3 cheeseburgers from Dicks and a side of fries and that would have only cost me two thirds of what I paid at Five Guys.
Or, order two cheeseburgers from Shake Shack for the same cost, way better quality (not as greasy, safe beef and great flavor) and great 'presentation.' See the 'not Five Guys, it's Shake Shack!' pic.
Will never go to any Five...
Read moreI am so done with this location. I've lived in Northgate for almost 6 years. They forget ingredients. They add ingredients (allergies, anyone?). I emailed them after the last time and they only offered lip service. Any other restaurant would offer something to keep you as a customer. Fries, a shake, something. Don't quietly deal with their mistakes for years like we did. Just go somewhere else. Today, my husband went to this Northgate location. I thought he would drive all the way to Ballard like I prefer to do now. I guess he needed a reminder of how error-prone the folks are at this location. Both of our straws were broken and useless. They added mushrooms to my burger. They forgot the cheese and mustard on my husband's burger. They forgot our fries. Now we're baking fries at home after having eaten our disappointing burgers. They were doing this before the pandemic, but the mistakes have proliferated. It's extra frustrating because take-out is the only option and who wants to dig through their entire order in the restaurant before actually...
Read moreFood was great..(however), some eye rolling and wide eyed disrespectful behavior from the cashier, probably my fault for not following the 5 guys order narrative. I seriously considered throwing my meal in the garbage and storming out. It ruined my meal, I have no idea if internal politics or dysfunctional narratives are going on in someone's life. I told myself I would never go there again.
Yes the food is good, but the portions are small, to put it in perspective, half asleep with my eyes closed I could cook the same. If you like premium throw it together greesy spoon food with over branding with free penuts in trays that are annoyingly/insultingly too small you found your place. Keep this in mind it's 10 times the price of a Costco hotdog meal (with my added sides), consider 3 times the wait time and small penut trays. I could buy a huge bag of peanuts and 2 hot dogs for 11 dollars and no rude behavior.
Sorry 5 guy fans Its boycott...
