Itās been about two months since I moved to this apartment, and I feel like Iām an unfortunate case. I feel itās important to share my experience with anyone thinking about moving into this apartment. Iāve never experienced this level of noise in any so-called luxury or new apartments Iāve lived in.
Iāve been suffering from persistent noises that occur during the day and nightāevery single day. Because of these noises, I canāt sleep well at night. Would anyone be okay without proper sleep for even a single day, let alone over a month? The noise sometimes resembles hammering or the sound of heavy objects being dropped. This is not a one-time occurrence; the noises startle and wake me up several times each night.
I initially thought my upstairs neighbor was doing some type of construction work. After the leasing office spoke with them, it appeared they were unlikely to be the source of the noises(It seems highly unlikely that the noises could be coming from them, if the building is constructed with concrete.) According to the leasing office, my other neighbors also claimed they were quiet during those times. Additionally, the leasing office informed me that a few residents on my floor/corner mentioned hearing similar noises on occasion. However, the teamās engineer was unable to identify the source or resolve the issue.
Given the circumstances, I felt that moving out of this apartment was the most viable option. However, when I asked the leasing office if I could break the lease without penalty, they responded, āThe team has gone above and beyond in many ways to find the source of the noise.ā āWeāve determined that the noises youāre experiencing are a common occurrence in many buildingsā āBecause of this, we wouldnāt be able to let you out of your lease with a waived lease break fee.ā
Considering the type, frequency, and the fact that this occurs every day, I strongly disagree. Iāve lived in several new, so-called luxury apartments but have never experienced this level of noise. I donāt think the noises throughout the day and night, especially during quiet hours, are generally considered normal in a residential environment. I donāt believe that the inability to identify the source justifies calling this environment ānormal.ā My physical and mental health has suffered significantly, resulting in a poor quality of life.
Even though the source of the noise is unlikely to be from the upstairs neighbor or my other neighbors based on their communications, the leasing office asked me to choose between transferring to another unit with a floorplan I find unacceptable or staying in my current unit. I believe that refusing to allow me to break the lease without penalty, despite the seriousness of the situation and the inability to identify or fix the source of the noise, is unreasonable.
I canāt imagine living in this environment for more than a year. The persistent noise has overwhelmed me, significantly affecting my happiness and increasing my stress levels.
I believe that, given the ongoing noise issues, the current living conditions do not justify the high rent. The view from the rooftop is amazing, though. I was going to attach some videos of the noises to demonstrate their level, but I just found that Google Maps reviews currently donāt support audio for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy first 4-5month was really awesome and I canāt say enough nice things about the old staffs here, especially Kizhan who is super responsive and helped me resolve a lot of issues. Things change when the nice workers left and the new staff came in, they are really just not responsive at all, the only person I think is still helpful is Devin but it doesnāt seem he is onsite very often
Also, skyglass recently changed their mailing rules - no package can be shipped onsite despite that a lot of retailer including Amazon cannot ship to Fetch, they 3rd party packaging service they mandate, and Iām told by leasing staff that I need to send an email if I want to ship to mailroom and will be fined if the package is not picked up in 24hrs. I just wanna say this is not contractually supported as itās not mentioned in the lease and in the lease it says we have 48 hours to pick things up and nowhere mention Fetch is a must. If this continues and the management refuses to address it, Iām thinking to get some legal consultation as well as submit complaints to the city directly.
Lastly, main reason for this 1-star review is that the office staffs are extremely untransparent about the incidents going on in the building, there were two major flooding and water leakage thatās quite crazy and weāre just never told the full picture of what happened - unclear communication such as ālobby is under a repair, please use exit on 2nd floorā weāre constantly used and the residents do not know where or what exactly broke. I would encourage the management team to do better on clear, comprehensive and transparent...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was a smooth and enjoying journey with Skyglass when I moved in. However, after the initial leasing office staff kizhan and autumn moved to new community, the new staffs came in and all changed. The new team is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. There is a staff in the leasing office called Cameron, the one with lovely nails. However, Looks like he can get his nails done pretty well but he cannot get his job done pretty well. His attitude and disrepectful behavior has been discussed within a lot of people who live in this building and seems like a lot of them were having bad experience with Cameron. Also, this building charges multiple times of sewer fee and extremely high sewer fee. They came back in Aug to charge the sewer fee in Feb again without any notification. During the time that I had question on the sewer bill, I went to the office and asked the staff and Cameron was the only one there, he didnāt even look at me and said harshly āI have no idea why the sewer went up and charge again! ā This was really rude and unprofessional. And also there was another time that the trash chute on my floor showing red sign for more than 3 days and I called the office and thought maybe they can resolve the issue. Cameron picked up the phone and I explained the situation and he yelled at me directly āwhich floor! Which floor! Which floor!ā And then hang up the phone. I donāt know someone with this kind of attitude and rude performance how he can be able to do his job as a community staff. He and the new management team is the only reason I didnāt extend my lease. So rude and...
