I visit this location quite often for my work so I have had multiple experiences in this particular store. More recently, service has certainly not been up to par where it should be.
My most recent experience with unsatisfactory service left me a bit frustrated. I entered into the store and went right to the counter. No one was up front, but from where I was standing, you can see directly into their back section where they sort mail. One associate was taping up a large box while another associate sat on the counter, swinging his legs back and forth, kicking at the box. Not particularly what I would like to see as a customer as I ship items out of this store.
Another customer walked up to the counter and started waiting with me. During this time the two associates continued what they were doing in the back. Finally after 5 - 7 minutes, I actually had to call out to get their attention as it was clear they were not paying attention to the front of the store.
Finally an associate came to the front to help us. He had to ask the other woman what she did in the store so he could properly charge her, admitting outloud himself that he wasnât paying attention to her. I was there to pick up my mail from my box. For reasons, I must check in with a staff member and have them collect the mail. While he was grabbing my mail, I recieved an important work call that I had to take. When he got back to the counter with my packages, he put them down on the counter a bit harder than necessary, seeming upset that I was on the phone. Needless to say, I most likely would have been out of the store when this call came through if I would have been assisted when I first walked in. I do try to not accept calls during these situations, but this call was time sensitive.
Of course, I have had some great service from other associates at this store. I do want to mention that service is not always bad. Most of the time, the guys are friendly and really helpful. I might suggest adding a bell to the door to alert staff that someone has entered or is leaving the store as work in the back area is needed from...
Read moreTLDR: this store charged me 60 dollars to pick up two boxes.
I shipped two medium sized boxes of my belongings from LA to Seattle this past week from one UPS store to another UPS store, instead of having it shipped directly to my apartment building which I had never visited before and was unsure how UPS would be able to deliver it given I do not have a buzzer and they do not call you to tell you when they are in front of the unit. Thinking I would save myself and UPS the trouble of figuring out this delivery to a busy street in Seattle I opted to send it to this store. I was told by an employee that there is a fee for holding my packages, but they couldn't tell me the fee because the manager sets the fee and they were not on duty. I asked the employee at the UPS store in LA what the fee might be and they said maybe 10-15 dollars which seemed reasonable. My packages were delivered to this store and after I had finished working (about a few hours) I walked to the store to get my packages. I saw my boxes immediately and said hello those are my packages and I am here to pick them up. The employee did not check my ID and told me handed me a piece of paper to sign that said 30 dollars, which I felt was ridiculous, but what am I going to do, leave all of my belongings at the store? Then I go to pay and it is actually 30 dollar per box, 60 dollars total to pick up two medium sized boxes that were sitting for a few hours. This is absolutely ridiculous. Getting access to my boxes was nearly 50% of the cost of sending them 1,000 miles. I would like a refund. Price gouging is predatory...
Read moreI went in to send a box out to MA on Sat afternoon. Gabe told me that it would cost $148 via USPS Express without guarantee that it would arrive by Mon but about $240 via UPS with guarantee. I chose to send it out via USPS because of the obvious price difference. He also told me that the tracking number which he had provided should come up online by 2-3PM by Sat. This tracking number comes up as 'NOT FOUND'. So I just went in (Monday) and asked Gabe why this isn't showing up on the USPS' system. Without even checking the tracking, he told me, "There's nothing we can do about that." That was his entire reply. So I asked he can run the number himself and he did. Again he told me, "There's nothing we can do about that. They have the package. So you should go and ask them." So I walked over to the Post Office and had a very nice man help me out. The first thing he asked me was, "Uh no. Did you send this out through the UPS store up the street?" After my answer, "He checked it out and confirmed that the tracking number also does not show up on the system and neither is the box anywhere to be found. He also added that I should go back to the UPS store and have them figured out.
I am simply outraged at Gabe and this UPS store's way of doing business. How can you pass off the buck after receiving $148 and provide me with a tracking number that is no good?
I am hoping that the package will safely arrive by tomorrow (Tue). If not, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and any other sources to report this bad...
