I love this family-owned business in Seattle. They’ve been a favorite for years; I was recently reminded how much character their pieces add to any interior after “borrowing” the items I own for a holiday pop-up I run. People were continuously asking about the tables; it felt great to direct them to Tirto knowing a great shop and people awaited them.
I have a number of their antiques, including the side table seen in the attached photo. My aesthetic mixes styles and these antique imports bring a warmth, depth and visual interest to my home. I love it.
In addition to purchases for my own space, I have assisted a number of friends with their interiors, and find myself recommending Tirto for unique or custom pieces. One friend could not find a dining table she loved. Through Chris and Claire, my pal got a custom table made at Tirto’s workshop in Indonesia; it met her aesthetic, values, and her family’s needs. Years after her purchase, she couldn’t be happier.
Same with another multi-family project I worked on. We got outdoor tables and stools/tables and they are perfect. They get a lot of ware and they have only gotten better with time.
In addition to beautiful work, Chris and Claire couldn’t be better people to work with. They are professional, patient, have never made me feel pressured to make a decision faster than I was comfortable, and everyone I’ve referred to them have some away loving them and their purchase/s. They clearly take pride in what they do, and genuinely care about their employees and customers. They are a fantastic example of a great local, small family business.
I own 4+ pieces and I’m sure more are in my future. 5 stars, without an ounce...

This coffee table purchased from Tirto circa 2013-2014 had lead-based paint, gave my 1-year-old baby lead poisoning and CDC inspection traced it back to this table. Unfortunately, both my other two older children were exposed to this, as this coffee table was the center point of our lives for the past 10 years. We as a family are devastated and would never have suspected that such a quality, artisan item would contain lead-based paint. Items are made in the family factory Indonesia, in which lead based paint was outlawed in 2017. I reported the concerns to Chris, and he was rightfully apologetic and explained that this was a batch of furniture made from repurposed materials in Indonesia. Regardless, items made overseas must still pass US safety regulations to be imported into the United States. The importer is responsible for ensuring that the goods meet all relevant regulations. Failure to do so can result in claims with the health department and consumer protection agencies. The lesson here is...
Read moreI ordered a custom buffet from Tirto. Chris, the owner, was extremely helpful. He, helped me figure out the design of the buffet, was always quick to respond to my zillions of questions, and sent me regular updates on the progress of the piece as it was being built. I couldn't be happier with the result--it is gorgeous. The price was quite reasonable, especially considering the exceptional quality of the materials and craftsmanship, the amount of work that was put into it, and the fact that it was...
