Age 54, ive shopped for decades at various TJ Maxx affiliates, even owned the stock. Purchased a comforter last week, but my existing blanket turned out warm enough. Returning the comforter untouched the very next day, operations manager Nancy said I could only get store credit without the receipt. I work long hours, work out at Esporta at 7pm, dine after 8pm. Typically exhausted, I misplace receipts. Nonetheless, I told Nancy I'd look again. Tonite, I went back saying I'd take store credit, not having found the receipt. But Nancy changed her story, saying she wont even issue store credit, claiming the price tag wasn't from her Homegoods location.
As a manager, Nancy has no regrets wasting customer time on a $40 return! I asked if she'd please speak w person stocking linen dept, given the person might remember this item perhaps on clearance and tagged differently. Nancy refused. Top line desperation - to accuse customers of going to Homegoods repeatedly to engineer a story around a $40 store credit??? Superior retail operators can look up purchase date and time, or use my credit card to find the purchase record. Nancy's management is short-sighted. No wonder well-paid, busy baby boomers are shopping at Amazon, or at retailers such as Macy's w better IT and service. I'll never go to Seminole...
Read moreUpdate: The last 2 times I shopped here, prices rang up higher than the price on the tag. I believe the issue is that they scanned the original UPC and not the Home Goods PRICE TAGs, both regular and clearance price tags. I was rushed both times so I didn't notice until I was home checking my receipts. One item I paid 4 times more than the price on the tag! Between the two trips, I overpaid by about $15 on the actual receipt versus the prices on the tags. I won't be back. If I have to babysit the cashier every visit because they are not trained on scanning the store's own price tags, I'm not interested in coming back to deal with that unnecessary nonsense.
Original review, 3+ years ago: I love this home store. It has good prices and a large selection. There is also a large pet supplies area with so many dog and cat beds to choose from, which is not common for home stores so I really enjoyed this section for my pets. A bonus is that this store also offers holiday or themed items such as the recent pride month décor and mugs and such-- including rainbow pet clothes. It's just a cute store overall and I appreciate that they celebrate all the holidays and major events,...
Read moreI recently visited your store with my wife, and we had an interaction that started off frustrating but ended on a positive note thanks to a few outstanding team members. While we were being helped by a kind cashier, another employee named Bonnie interrupted loudly in front of other customers, stating that "the customer needs to call the other store" when we asked about checking product availability. Her tone and approach were extremely rude and unprofessional, which made us very uncomfortable. However, I want to take a moment to sincerely commend Robert and Sezin. They both went above and beyond to help us. Sezin immediately stepped in to assist, called multiple stores to locate the leather chair we were interested in, and showed genuine care. Robert, the manager, was also excellent — he contacted the warehouse and helped coordinate with other stores to check availability. Their customer service was outstanding, and they turned the experience around for us. I hope this feedback is helpful — both as a recognition of great service, and as a reminder of the impact rude behavior can have...
