Read moreThis could easily have been 1 star or 3, but due to the extreme INCONSISTENCY of this place, I'll go with 2. We have been there 6 times in the past 2 months. We really wanted to like this place but we are done. First visit in July--my wife's birthday and she wanted to try the vegan lasagna. They still had lunch hours and we arrived at 3:50pm. We entered on the north(MAIN ROAD IN MALL)side of the place. No greeter so I went to the bar area where we were told to sit anywhere. 10 minutes later(the place had one other diner), a server approached. We ordered and he returned to tell us the "cook wasn't prepared to make that dish." Disappointed and unusual but we said no problem and ordered pasta dishes. He returned again to take our lunch menus and replace them with dinner menus(read-more$$) as it was 4:05. Seriously??? He said the manager sent him. Who does this?? STILL-being a special day, no argument from us.."Give us the dinner portions(and prices) Decent food-but sloppy service/kitchen. Our next visit for the pizza special was fine. I should note that I sent 'Roberto' an email as that was what he was instructing negative reviewers to do..NO RESPONSE. Sent it again-NO RESPONSE. I didn't leave a review and wouldn't after one visit. Since then-pasta dishes(pasta pesto primavera)came with uncooked veggies-literally raw. YET-we came back yesterday for the pizza. Again-empty place-I had to wave a server(manager?) over and she had an attitude. She said "yes?" Told her we knew what we wanted,, Vegan Pizza- 2 drinks. Easy-right? It took 45 minutes. No communication- I asked her if our order was placed. Her response: "yep." Unbelievable. Another gal brought us the pie. I said "we thought you forgot about us"-with a smile. She said the cook had 12 pizzas to get out. In this situation-just tell the patron it's going to be a bit longer. Here? Nothing. On top of that-unlike the last tasty vegan pie-this one was BLAND and tasteless. I can go on and on but in a nutshell- The wait staff is untrained. Never a greeter and when you seat yourself-you are ignored and the first one(server) we had yesterday was the worst. (She apparently copped an attitude because I alerted her that we were there-I believe she may be the manager-good luck with her)! This has happened 4 out of the 6 times we went. The 'chef' (please read other reviews-) doesn't seem to have achieved the essential art of FOOD PREP. We had to make alternate choices 3 out of 6 visits because we arrived right after the place opened(they apparently open at 4 now)and he wasn't ready!! Having been in the hospitality business for many years-these people need training. AS stated-we wanted to like the place as we live 3 miles away but alas-never going back. INCONSISTENT/Lousy service/inconsistent food. . This and the fact that the 'owner' didn't respond to two emails(great way to run a business, eh?-watch them say they never received!)-I'm forced to leave this review. Didn't want to. Will never return. Go at your own risk! Had to repost as this review, left two weeks ago-just...
Stopped by a few days ago at night to pick up a menu and ask questions regarding lunch. Stella, young lady working at the front was super helpful and friendly..thus I decided to return with a friend on Saturday August 20th promptly at opening for lunch. My friend loves Italian food and I thought I would impress her considering my first impressions was so positive. Unfortunately we experienced less than desirable service.. We were promptly seated three minutes after 12. We came early as possible because we were hoping for really good service.. Emily greeted us soon as we entered as we took our seats right in front of the bar/ kitchen area in plain view of just the about everyone working at the time..it was interesting seeing the activity area around the oven.. It took over 10 minutes for Emily to return to our table, even though she walked by several times to eventually take our orders , even though soon as we were seated, I informed Emily that I was ready to order. We entered from the back and noticed only another couple present in the restaurant, eating already so we thought we would receive attentive, prompt service...not at all. My friend ordered a vegetarian sandwich, it was absolutely full of fresh, delicious ingredients...I actually regret not ordering the same. But I also love cauliflower crust pizza with veggies and cheese so I ordered it. Delicious toppings, tasty and fresh, but the amount of fresh mozzarella was minuscule.... I was really hoping to get a chance to address this with Emily, but , she NEVER stopped by to check if we enjoyed our food and/ or needed anything else...as I mentioned previously there was only one other couple in the restaurant and they were there when we arrived... Emily disappeared in the kitchen and I had to ask Stella, hostess to find her because we were out of water, she never refreshed our glasses after the first serving. Eventually I walked up to the water pitcher and helped myself because NOBODY, came to attend to our needs.
Eventually almost 45 minutes later Emily showed up and my friend complemented her lunch, but I couldn't eat the crust because it was too burned.and I kindly explained that I tried a small wedge but it was bitter..the bottom had been burned too much. Emily argued that it is not burned, she did offer something else, but I was so disappointed considering, and frustrated that we were neglected for the entire time of our stay including having to get my own water refill, and we had to ask Stella to get us extra nepkins...so when she argued about the crust that it was just fine, leaving was the only option. Was hoping to address our disappointment with a manager, but were informed that actually Emily is the shift leader/ person in charge.. Was hoping that maybe I would receive a reduction of my bill when the check was delivered.. That was not the case...
Terribly disappointed, but hopeful someone will address customer...
Read moreAwful experience! My husband and I went out for a date night. We wanted to try this place for quite some time. Upon arrival we were seated very quickly and shortly after approached from a friendly waitress. She was new, as she stated so we were not upset that she had some trouble to catch our drink order. The ambience was very nice outside, inside we had the feeling they were trying to portray an Italian modern look but it looked unfinished. After receiving our drinks we gave the waitress our food order. So far still good. The bread with an oil garlic mix served shortly after was warm but stale. We asked for a more " fresh version " and got that shortly after. One of the 2 appetizers arrived. Burrata and prosciutto..good presentation and nice size portion..but here ended our positive experience. After finishing the appetizer plate the waitress informed us that the second appetizer ( mussels in a red spicy tomato sauce) were not ready yet but our main entrees would be. Still holding on to our positive vibe we told her to bring the entrees and bring the mussels out whenever they are ready. My husband received his chicken parmesan and the lasagna I ordered. The chicken was covered in gravy and looked good at first but was so overcooked that my husband couldn't even cut it. The opposite side of the chicken which was facing the plate was totally black and burned. The lasagna had a weird looking " beige paste " of meat sauce which was truly very unappetizing. Nobody showed up and asked if we would like any additional parmesan. So we shared the weird looking lasagna and when the waitress showed up again we pointed out that the the chicken was totally burned and absolutely not eatable. She apologized, took it from the table. When she came back she had the mussels ( our second appetizer) ready to be served. We declined her offer to recook the chicken and told her we just stay with the mussels as our second entree and share it . They were served in a bowl with a "paprika ish " looking sauce and only 1 clean plate on the side. Since we were sharing the dish ( as she knew) we asked for a second plate ( maybe to bougie ?). Still..she delivered a second plate and an additional one for the shells..which we did not need since the mussels were so chewy that after each of us tried 3 we were done. The sauce covering them was a watery mix of some kind of tomato paprika spicy " sauce " which can be rated only as subpar! Unfortunately we were not able to consume that dish either and asked the waitress just for the check. She apologized and took it together with the burned chicken from our check. No manager appearance to try to fix this horrible dining experience and apologize for this disaster. No need to mention we won't be back and advise our family and friends to stay away from this " wannabe "...
