The store has terrible service and I would not recommend it to anyone. We needed appliances for our vacation home in FL and went to the store in July. We spoke to Derek Kazakos. I had measured our existing appliances as well as the existing space with laser measurement tool and provided this to Derek. He recommended appliances but also informed us that we would need to be available in person to inspect and take delivery of the appliances. He informed us that because of manufacturing delays it would be a couple of months before the appliances would be delivered. We were leaving our condo in a few days and did not know when we would return and therefore did not order the appliances in store. I specifically asked if our friends can do this for us and were informed that this is not possible. Turns out this is inaccurate and anyone over 18 years old can take delivery of the appliances.
We eventually ordered the appliances online in August 2020 and used the print out and SKU numbers given to us by Derek. I flew to FL to take delivery of these appliances and they were supposed to be delivered on 10/15. We had paid for haul away. The night before delivery date, we received an email from home depot saying that delivery date has been postponed to 10/27/2020. I called home depot and was told that this was due to manufacturing delays. They did not have a satisfactory answer as to why they did not know about this delay until almost the date of delivery. They did inform me that any adult can be available to take delivery.
Home depot delivered the appliance on 10/27. The refrigerator they delivered was too big for the space despite being recommended by the store expert. Despite this, the delivery team removed our old refrigerator and hauled it away to be recycled. They simply left a refrigerator in the middle of our kitchen and did not call us or follow up with us. I was notified of this by our friend and called this home depot as they were the ones that fulfilled our online order. I spoke to a guy named Herb with appliances. He displayed no empathy for our plight and continued to argue that this is not home depot’s fault. He blamed this on everyone else including us, manufacturers, and delivery team. The delivery team does not work for home depot. Despite asking to speak to the manager multiple times, Herb would not let me speak to the store manager. He also blamed us for taking the measurement wrong even with a laser measurement tool. He was extremely rude during multiple conversations. Ultimately, I grew frustrated and refused to speak to Herb further to resolve this issue and requested to speak to someone else. We weren’t getting much help from home depot or Herb who was more interested in arguing rather than resolving the issue. Therefore, I hired someone to remove the cupboards above the refrigerator so it would fit. We did this and then called home depot. This time I spoke to a guy named Mark. He arranged for someone to come and install the refrigerator. This was also a third party team sub-contracted by home depot and did not show up twice when Mark had informed us they would. Throughout this process we were begging for our friends to show up and allow home depot access to our condo as we live in a different state. When the installation team did not show up twice, I called Mark who was on vacation at that time. Finally, I spoke to someone who was able to have the installation team show up and install our refrigerator.
We were treated frustratingly poorly throughout this process and will be avoiding this store...
Read moreJust had brand new LG Refrigerator delivered 4 day's ago it does not work. Called the store for help to return and get a new one no such luck buyer beware you can not return appliances ? Since when ? We all know the Chip problems all industries are facing and the fact its not cooling and the front panel lights are going on and off like a UFO there is no fixing these once the control panel goes. They want to send someone out to try to repair ? good luck getting parts. Should have went to Lowes as they return and replace their products. Wish I could give them a lower than 1 star. After many calls they say they will be out in a week Aug. 2nd.
To add insult to injury this is on the web site. Customer Support: Return Policy at The Home Depot
Can a refrigerator be returned? You may return an appliance for refund or replaced up to 7 days after the date the product is delivered to your home without paying any restocking or pickup fees. Be sure to inspect your appliances for damage within the first 7 days. Service charges, such as delivery and installation fees will not be refunded.
More update to the debauchery they did send someone out to look at the refrigerator sooner than planned. However they sent a circuit board and it was the wrong one imagine that. Still not cooling properly he said turn the freezer down which will do nothing but freezer burn everything in the freezer refrigerator is still not cooling properly. We were told to turn it down to 0° and that would fix the refrigerator portion. Well lo and behold it’s done nothing but make everything in the freezer rockhard I’m sure it’s the compressor that is low on Freon or not working properly. Just like a car air-conditioning if it’s low on Freon or the blend door is not opening and closing properly one side will blow cold the other side will not. But what do I know I’m just out the money and have a huge elephant in my kitchen that does not work. Do yourself a favor Think twice about buying anything from the Home Depot especially the one in Seminole on...
Read moreAs I reviewed in another post regarding my experience with Eric in tool rentals (also doubles as a Penske return location) his customer service is abysmal at best. When returning a car trailer so I could more easily unload my rental truck and later my rental truck, Eric was my first point of contact. Hindsight is 20/20. After being asked who was next in line and indicating that I was he asked if I would wait so he could help the person behind me as they were only there for a Home Depot tool rental. Grudgingly I agreed after letting him know that he shouldn't bother asking who was next if he really hadn't wanted to deal with a Penske return. After being courteously helped by another gentleman and I was on my way. I returned a few hours later having emptied the truck and scrupulously cleaning it and folding the pads Penske had provided at no charge only to find Eric the only one there. Oh well, no choice to proceed after being told that he wasn't very good with the process. After giving him the contract AND the keys I told him that I was going to the restroom and would be right back. Upon my return he is helping someone else and had not completed my return. Expressed my displeasure because I could see where this could go and waited for him to finish and complete the inspection after him asking me where the keys were that he had. Overall F- to Eric and Home Depot #6304 in Seminole, Florida for the lack of training and customer service. As this was my first experience interacting with anyone from my new place of residence, my expectations have dropped considerably. Sadly, this may be a case of having to hire who you can as opposed to someone capable. Hopefully this is a one off experience and others here can restore my faith in professionalism. I will update if Home Depot #6304 in Seminole, Florida deigns to contact...
