Our dog had been attending daycare here quite regularly for a few years, as well as being boarded. On 2/25/22, he experienced an incident, at daycare, causing us to no longer use either their daycare or boarding services.
Response to owner: It’s not safe to tie a dog to a fence and have them jumping around potentially hurting themselves. Myself as well as many others are in complete disagreement. As also stated previously, this behavior of nipping, he’s never exhibited this previously, you all had never said anything about it, nor have I ever seen any other dog tied unsafely to a fence. If he was exhibiting this behavior previously or even that day, the appropriate thing to do would be to notify owners as we don’t want our dog to be put in a situation to be hurt or harm others. This situation was handled wrong.
Sometimes when dogs need to be calmed the workers will put the dogs on a lead and walk with them. This process works well. Unfortunately on this day, the worker decided to tie our dog, to the fence, outside, while all other dogs were loose. I was able to view on their cameras him barking and jumping as the worker stood there and didn’t help him. I watch the cameras often, when he is there and they NEVER tie dogs to fences or anything else, the worker always has the lead in hand. No dog should be tied to a fence, especially while there are other areas to place a dog. He could have been severely hurt while tied to the fence. The reason given to why he was tied to the fence was even more disturbing. They said they were feeding other dogs and he was nipping. There are many problems with this.
We have another dog at home and he’s never exhibited this behavior of food aggression with our other dog or with people.
No one has ever said anything about this ever. Nor have we ever seen him or any other dog be tied to a fence.
IMO you shouldn’t feed other dogs while other dogs are around that aren’t being fed anyways.
Regardless of any of this, don’t tie a dog to a fence. You have rooms or other play areas for a reason.
With all of this, I’ve lost faith in Barklife providing the same care for him that we do at home. Unfortunately he really looses out here as he had loved going to play there.
Previously our concerns were addressed immediately, but we’ve yet to hear back from the owner. Granted we picked him up immediately and asked to be refunded for our remaining package, but I’d still expect some type of correspondence back from the email I sent based on previous...
Read moreUpdate to business response. The cameras sucked and im not sure why a camera would matter if your workers are allowing dogs to sleep in urine and have their fur matted with pee. And my dog ended up sick. I mean at least let me know. Im sorry but the camera doesnt tell me these things. I've had numerous people tell me that live behind bark life about how the workers yell and talk bad to the dogs. I've had many people reach out to me who didn't leave a review and say how bad their experience was with bark life. It's unfortunate you are saying I'm lying and that makes your business look worse. My dog was not cleaned and sent home, she was sick, matted in pee, and her bed was soaked in pee. I would never encourage anyone to use bark life, especially after your review response. It's gross. Also, take ownership that you didn't properly care for my dog because you were "short-staffed." Maybe you can find the camera footage showing my dog sick laying in her pee or in your words just peed before I picked her up. I picked her up at 3 pm.
I unfortunately used their boarding in April of 2021 for 5 nights. I came back to a sick dog that was matted in pee and smelled so bad. Her bed had pee all over it. Also I paid for a bath before pick up that didn't happen. I wasn't notified that she was sick. We actually received a wrong dog update as well. After her stay she acted so differently towards dogs. We had to get her in training. I waited a bit because I was so upset, and I was like they're a small business, but I finally emailed the manager. The guy said oh sorry we were short staffed. People will have good and bad experiences and people need to know about both to make an informed decision on if they want to utilize a business. I should have done a BBB complaint but I figured oh small business, but I'm tired of businesses not owning up and making things right. I was reading through their reviews and the comments from this business...saying oh you didn't use us and being so rude and condescending. I think that says alot about a business as well. You can say people are bashing you online but if it happened then it's an event that happened. It's not bashing. I doubt people spend thousands on their pets that they love and would be ok with them being treated poorly.
I told our neighbor to avoid them well they didn't listen and used them with a...
Read moreThis woman doesn’t know what she’s talking about! She believes raw food is the best thing for your domesticated dog. (which has different nutritional needs than a wolf. Domestic dog dna differs from wolf dna about the same as human dna differs from gorilla dna. So unless you know a pack of wild, not stray pugs or a gorilla that wears a business suit then you don’t need to feed your domesticated dog raw food!) But yet her number one product is dry dog food. So already it’s a dishonest business run by someone who doesn’t believe in what she’s selling! She doesn’t sell dog food that has been tested with food trials or have veterinary nutritionists on staff. She only sells food that’s expensive, “holistic”, and not tested! She isn’t a veterinary nutritionist and she gives people advice on what they should feed. Which is kinda illegal! These opinions aren’t based on facts, they’re based on who lines her pockets the most! Would you ask the Publix bag boy for nutritional information for your child? Hopefully no, so why would you ask a pet store employee for nutritional information on your pet? Please, if you have questions on what your should feed you pet I emplore you to ask a real expert like your veterinarian! They took nutrition classes along with their veterinary technicians and assistants! They also do not get any sort of monetary kickbacks from certain great dog food companies they recommend! Those are very creative lies pet food stores came up with to make them seem like they know what they’re taking about. Don’t fall for this scam!
After I left my other bad review for being upset that an uneducated pet store worker is giving medical advise in the form of dog food recommendations and ear medication suggestions, (which is technically practicing veterinry medicine without a license (that’s illegal!!)) this women who I assume owns the business looked me up in Facebook and began harrassing and threatening me! She’s doesn’t have any real accredited education such as a veterinary degree of any kind and yet she automatically disproves the new FDA study on grain free diets because it named every crappy brand that line...
