Safran's Supermarket — Local services in Sewickley

Safran's Market has been customer friendly since I have been shopping there for over 10yrs and at a time like this it's so emotionally and psychologically essential to have a store not exploiting the situation for their profit but genuinely caring about their staff&their customers. Helen is a perfect example she welcomed me from day one&she still takes a warm friendly interest in me&my doggie and Jeanie &the others at the checkout follow that mindset. And I have to say the fruit pies that I order from Mark&Victoria in the deli depart are a clear example of the quality of small business outshining brand names. Beyond a warm greeting&gratitude when you pick up the pie at an always affordable price there's the quality that goes into the baking itself-far above Mrs Smith&etal.

Now they have had to make changes in attire masks and gloves and plexiglass around the checkouts for their protection as well as ours. But these changes are merely external.Nothing can alter their warm generous hearts...

It seems more like a large convenience store but without the convenience of being open at odd hours . Hence the convenience. They do have grocery store prices for milk and certain close to out of date items( got two prego jars for $1 a piece). But dont bother doing a white glove test because the dust on the food displays are thick enough to ruin a pair of jeans if you accidentally run into one . Bad meat . Horrible prices and very compact and a need of former knowledge on where to park going through two one ways and an ally to get there . Employees seem very nice and i witnessed a cashier pay for a young mothers groceries when her card didnt go through. You would never see such a thing at a giant eagle or walmart. I guess since it is in the main business district it is what would be considered a convenience store and the prices...

I love this place. We don’t do our normal shopping here only bc it’s small and maybe a little more expensive than the big boys. But that’s understandable. It’s however an amazing source of joy. Always super clean yet retro feel.

Need something quickly or something driving home. It’s perfect. Super quick in and out and always have what you need. An amazing selection for its size.

Well staffed and the service is fine not friendly but serviceable for sure. Parking is ridiculously large and a breeze.

Walkable from almost anywhere. Great candy selection which all the local kids love.
