Donât normally post reviews, but i drove a long time to get to the shop for their anniversary sale. Parked in what i thought was a good parking space (i donât live in a dense city so side of the road parking is uncommon for me). Store opens and an employee is absolutely laying in to me for parking where I did instead of asking me to move or directing me elsewhere. I would have moved had i realized or were told. Employees shouldnât call their customers dumb.
Edit in instance of owner response - Dason is how itâs spelled. Appreciate the response. The employee asking about the car only asked once to the cluster of people surrounding him. I was the last one in the store as it opened - I did not hear the initial ask. Very quickly (after I had made it into the store) the employee said and I quote: âSometimes I hope there is a fire so peopleâs windows will get smashed in when they go to move the vehicles.â The other comment in question was âpeople that park there are so dumb.â It was at this point I realized that I was the one they were talking about and that i had parked in front of the fire hydrant on accident. I walked out the door and moved my car immediately after and tried to shop. Admittedly I felt weird being there after the interaction. I left after being there for maybe 15 minutes. As I walked to my car from the store I had noticed another vehicle take that initial spot. In short, thanks for addressing the situation. Have a great anniversary, and possibly consider talking to that employee about his attitude towards customers. I had no issue moving my car as I was the one that accidentally parked there, but hearing the above comment and being called dumb made me not...
Read moreI had a really good first visit at the store on Sunday December 18th. I am an avid toy collector and travel for work and love to visit toy shops when in a new city, I have also heard great things about this store on youtube and planned to visit while in Pittsburgh (I visited your both at Toypalooza last year and recognized Marshall!). The store has a clear and open layout with a good healthy selection of all the major toy lines and mixed inventory of both vintage and modern, although I would say there is an emphasis on vintage. Things are well displayed in nicely lite glass display cases where you can basically "help" yourself as they are unlocked....sometimes I will shy away from buying something if I have to get someone to open the case everytime I see something I want, but that isnt the case here. Everyone (Marshall, Hunter and Kip) was very cool and helpful. The atmosphere was low key and friendly... I spent about 3 enjoyable hours taking my time, leisurely shopping without any pressure.....and found a ton of great things for the collection. Their prices are good and reasonable. Marshall was super cool to talk with, and gave me some flyers for some upsoming shows. I highly recommend D&E collectibles and you should visit them when your in Pittsburgh....
Read moreSo, make this simple. I called the store with some vintage toys still in the boxes and blisters never opened. I took them in and was given a quote of what the items was worth and what they would sell them for. Marshall made an offer, I did not think it was high enough but he assured me that the items were not as they seemed in value. I sold him the items, my fault, when I see they listed them on eBay. He listed just 1 of the items for 700.00. More than triple what he said the item was worth. All of these items are non star wars but still valuable. I told him that I would come back with a few carded star wars items that was placed on revenge of the Jedi in the 80âs. These are extremely rare and near impossible and just about had to come from an employee of Jenner in Cincinnati in the 80 s due to the lot being destroyed due to the name of the movie being changed. If I canât get a fair estimate and honesty. I wonât bring anything else to that location. Do your due diligence in finding a value before taking it in and get scammed by a bad or dishonest store. Absolutely bad decision by me but totally...
