I was so excited when I found out this store was opening! I went the day after they officially opened..and the store was FILLED with things that are normally few & far between at other TJ stores. They had tons of Ugg boots, Michael Kors tops, Nike workout apparel etc. I went last night and was extremely disappointed. Size medium tops were virtually non-existent. Whether it was in the "sweaters" or "tops" rack, there were about 20 items in total...the majority of them being JUNIOR tops which should have been in the juniors section (this is another thing that really irks me...if I know that the top is a junior brand, shouldn't the employees who spend all day with these tops/brands know this?) Every other Tj Maxx normally has ATLEAST a full rack of tops and sweaters just in size medium. It's like they hoarded all their good items between the move from Hall Road and 26 mile, put them out for the grand opening and now have nothing left to offer. While trying to browse the skin cream aisle/section, I was not able to touch or read any of the bottles, since 3 disgruntled workers were standing in a the aisle arguing about something (not in English) and grabbing a bunch of the bottles and throwing them in a large box for some reason. Every once in a while one of them would swivel their head around at me while I tried to peer over their shoulder to see what facial creams were available, but it was as if I was inconveniencing THEM. So I just gave up on that idea. The cashiers were snobby and had a horrible attitude. My cashier in particular could barely speak English and rolled her eyes on multiple occasions. Awesome my first time in there, awful the second and third time around...and the store has only been open for about 2 weeks. I'll update my rating the next time I go in there and have a...
Read moreI was super excited when I saw that TJ Maxx was getting a new store, which is why I'm sorry to say I won't be visiting it again. Selection here is very limited and disorganized. The biggest problem is the staff and management. Went to return an item I got before the holiday that still had tags but no receipt. First, I was told it would be no problem, and the cashier began ringing me up. Then, a supervisor (Name: Val) began to search for the item, they couldn't find them in the system and tried to tell me they didn't accept returns without a receipt. After telling her I've returned items without them before, she changed her reasoning, saying they were too 'worn.' When manager (Laura) was called she responded with attitude, but returned the pants. She then proceeded to blatantly gossip about the situation to her coworkers. This is unacceptable, and...
Read moreI was so looking forward to this local TJMaxx. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. This is the smallest TJMaxx I have ever been in, therefore it is cramped, hard to navigate and there is not even half the merchandise you expect to find in this chain. Seems like a poor business decision in an area that has been waiting for a store like this.
The other noteworthy problem is the staff. I had to quickly stop and move my cart 3 times when the same employee walked right in my path as she barreled through with a stock cart and another time with her manager. If the manager doesn't recognize customer service, it's probably a sure bet she won't notice a problem with the staff.
Rochester isn't that far away, I'll just keep...
