I Hop in Shelby,NC has went down hill terribly. Went in right before lunch to eat. No crowd at all. Walked in the door, the rug was covered in dirt, leaves all over the floor, windows were unclean as well. Didn't look like they cleaned at all the night before. Sat down waitress was prompt n gave our order, but after receiving our drinks, my moms tea glass was dirty. Took it back to waitress to get another one. Next one was clean. They were exactly 4 sets of couple there when we got there. We waited on our food for over an hour. But, others were getting impatient as well asking about their food, why it was taking so long. Well once food got to us, it was hot and delicious. One thing that got my attention was how one young waitress was counting her tip money sitting with her boyfriend across from us. She was complaining about something to him about the customer tickets. I thought this was highly uncalled for. Especially out in the dining area. Well as we started to leave, I went to the ladies room. Bad mistake. Note* ,I'm a professional commercial cleaner for local businesses in Shelby. What a disgrace to walk into a local restaurant of plum filth to say the least. As If the front entrance walking into I Hop wasnt enough uncleanliness. Trash everywhere on the floor, toilet paper everywhere like someone had rolled the place. Tampon container overflowing with dirty unsanitary ones hanging out. Trash cans overfilled with used paper towels. If, I was a manager, the place would have been cleaned before opening for customers. So after going to pay. I asked if they were short handed. Waitress said, No, were just alittle more busy as usual. You call having 3 sets of couples busy in the entire restaurant, I thought to myself. Wow!, I've seen in the past IHop bombarded with cars, when we got there maybe 5 at the least. And they were busy. Well I proceeded to tell, her well someone needs to give attention to the ladies room soon. I told her how I was a commercial cleaner and if the health department was to come in today, and see the building this filthy, they would have closed it down till it was cleaned. I just imagined with the entrance as you walk in, the dining area n bathroom what kind of condition it was, I would hate to imagine where or what our food came from. Waitress did thank me for telling her, said, she hadn't used it any that day. And would definitely check it out. I'm not a IHop customer much ,I just took my mom there cause she likes it. Here on out my place of choice will be sticking with the Waffle house, its always clean, friendly workers and food cooked in front of you to let you see where n how your food is being cooked. I do hope IHop, will be consider looking into this and restore their...
Read moreSure wish I could leave a minus 0!If you think you know what IHOP stands for, you would be wrong! It really stands for I Have One Purpose (to make money!) When you read this account, think of this happening to your Mother, Sister, Wife or Girlfriend. As my husband and I finished our cold meal, we noticed a waitress cleaning the floor right near our booth with a little dustpan and brush. We decided to let her pass before we got up to leave. My husband went to pay the bill, and I stood up along the side of the table to wait for him. When I switched from one leg to the other, my foot slipped on some sticky or gooey substance on the floor, and I lost my balance and fell straight back. In the process, my back hit directly on the floor, and my head bounced off of the iron legs of the table next to our booth. I was screaming in pain, and everyone came running, including my husband.A waitress called an ambulance, and they took me to the Trauma Center. I was in and out of consciousness from that point until 2 days later waking up in the Hospital. I sustained 2 concussions, and a fractured back. This happened in July of 2018, and I am still in pain every single day!
A week later, upon returning home, I contacted IHOP Corporate Office to find out how to open a claim, and the correct mailing address. The Representative who answered the phone was very sympathetic, and told me to send the report, and all my information, and they would handle it. A couple of weeks later, I called to ask the status of my claim. I was told that IHOP is not responsible for my case because their "investigator" said I lost my balance. That seems to prove my case...exactly! I slipped on some sticky residue, and lost my balance!
When calling an attorney, I found out that in this great State of North Carolina, the government is on the side of "Big Business." The injured party has to prove their case. Excuse me! While I was on the floor screaming in pain, I did not think about whipping out my cell phone to take a picture of the slop that caused me to fall! On any given day, you will find syrup, eggs, butter, cream, jam (and who knows what else?) on the floor of the IHOP in Shelby.
So, I am asking anyone who has had a similar expeience to please post a review. No one else needs to suffer continuously for months like I have. The Manager at IHOP did not even have the decency comp our meal. My husband paid for it as the ambulance was rushing me to...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COSTS! Horrid service and experience! ! Waited over an hour for cold food that was incorrect! Our party of 5 arrived at about 1pm on a Sunday and while the restaurant was steady, it was far from packed. We waited 15 minutes to be seated which didn’t make any sense as there were numerous empty tables around. Once we were finally seated we gave our order to our waitress and then proceeded to wait over an hour for our food. During our wait we saw two other parties be seated, get their food, and finished eating before us. Our waitress came to our table maybe twice to tell us our food would “be a few more minutes” or was “in the window”. (Obviously a lie). When we finally got the food much later several items were missing from our order and our waitress made no attempt to let us know it was coming. It seemed like during the time we were waiting she completely forgot what we ordered. My husband had a southwest scramble that clearly was supposed to have avocado on it, but the waitress neglected to tell us that the avocado was still “on the truck” and they didn’t have it. Gee, wish she would have told him that before he ordered it. (The manager later told us they did have it and that was a lie) Secondly, it should have come with red potatoes with peppers and onions, and she gave us generic hashbrowns. When I told her the error she then brought him plain potatoes with no peppers and onions and tried to tell us there was an upcharge for that. (Lie). The bill was also completely wrong which we had to get sorted with the manager who also seemed to be in an ill mood and was yelling at her employees while ringing us up. No apologies from anyone. Waitress didn’t seem to care at all. Please don’t waste your time and money on this place. Go anywhere else. One of the worst restaurant...
