I've noticed every single one of the 1-star reviews here are for issues with the pharmacy. I won't question others experiences but I will say there are other aspects to this location.
As far as the retail side goes, it's fantastic. It's very easy to get in and out. The staff is very friendly and professional. They answer your questions and even go above and beyond sometimes with helpful information you didn't even ask for. The only criticism I can think of is that Walgreens prices are usually a little high unless an item is on sale. That said, their rewards program is great and with a little effort on the customer's part, the prices end up being pretty good after considering rewards and such.
Now I'll address the pharamacy. I think most of these people with issues are probably going early in the day when it's the busiest and become frustrated. I have had to wait a bit myself, but that's honestly been my experience at any pharmacy I've been to in the last decade. I can tell you with 100% confidence none of these people who are complaining about wait times have ever used the local Kroger pharmacy. The Walgreens pharmacy is like concierge service in comparison. I do have good insurance and while my prescriptions are always cheap, they are more expensive at Walgreens than other places. For me, it's worth the extra couple bucks to have a good experience. I would recommend that people who are sensitive to their medication prices to check around a bit on prices. The staff is almost always friendly and professional. Sometimes they MAY seem to be a little hurried, which is fine because they process transactions quickly. I could not imagine having to deal with the customer issues they do on a daily basis. Honestly, if a pharmacy worker isn't punching you in the face, they're probably being pretty reserved LOL. The amount of rude people, and confused elderly people they have to deal with has to be astronomical. I do admit that one time when I went inside during the early afternoon, I was waited on by a very young girl who was slightly rude and dismissive even though I didn't have any needs whatsoever outside of picking my meds up. I haven't had to deal with her again and will just assume she was having a bad day.
If I was reviewing the pharmacy on a standalone basis, I would probably give it a solid 4.5 stars, but when reviewing the whole experience, it's most...
Read moreMy husband and I just moved to Shephardsville, and chose to make this particular store our store of choice for our refills moving forward. My husband called today for the first time to see if we could get refills or if there was any refills currently on his medication. First of all - the woman that answered, answered “hello”, and my husband said, “is this the pharmacy”, and she said yes ”what do you need” , and my husband asked to check for refills. She said what’s your birthdate and he told her. Then she asked what prescriptions and he told her two of them. She then proceeded to say” it’s too early to fill” so my husband asked “even for my inhaler” and she replied “ I said for the inhaler”! My husband said, “I’m sorry mam if you’re having a rough day, but may I speak to the manager?” And she hung up on him. Disgusting behavior for a so called professional establishment. I will find out her name and report her to corporate. Such a vile human and to treat someone who is as sick as my husband is that way she did, or anyone for that matter- DOES NOT EVEN DESERVE A JOB HELPING OTHER. And Miss Mam- If you’re reading this- you should be ashamed of yourself. You’re a nasty person and I hope you don’t kiss your momma with that...
Read moreWe just moved here from Louisville last month. We have a child with cerebral palsy and she has been out of one of her meds for 3 days now. I was at this location Friday 12/2/22 and the girl I talked to at the pharmacy said her meds were ready at the Louisville location and said they could pull her meds from the previous location but it won’t be in until Monday. I called Monday 12/5/22 and the girl that answered this time said that I would have to call and get the doctor to send the prescription directly to that store. So while I was trying to explain to her what one of her coworkers said Friday, and also that my child needs her meds that she’s been without for days, and that everyone in the pharmacy should have the same information because it’s causing confusion…she hung up on me. That was rude, and I’ve never had a problem like this with my pharmacy in Louisville. I’ll probably be...
