I am extremely dissatisfied with my first and only experience at Ollie’ s Bargain Outlet.
I entered there store at 6:55 pm for the first time and before making it thru the second set of double door the cashiers screams extremely loudly in an unprofessional manner “ we close in 5 minutes!!! “.
I proceeded inside and replied thank you. As I continued forward into the store another employee (Kimberly) approached me and also said in a very rude and aggressive way “ we close in five minutes!!!”.
At this point I became uncomfortable with my experience so I asked the employee ( Kimberly) if I could speak with a manager. She answered in a loud and rude way “ I am the manager!!!”.
I could not believe the manager was conducting herself like this. I proceeded to tell her that it was my first time at this store and I did not know they closed at 7. She replied loudly “ you should have looked at the sign on the door”. I explained to her that I felt her behavior was inappropriate and that I had never been treated so poorly by a member of manager in a grocery store before. She replied louder “ well then you can go ahead and leave my store”.
I could not believe what was happening. I told Kimberly that I have 5 minutes to shop so that what I am going to do. Kimberly gave me a very nasty look then walked away. Needless to say at this point I turned around and left the store in shock.
I have worked for Costco Wholesale for 11 years and have been in a leadership role for the majority of my career so I understand the importance of customer service. This was the worst experience I have ever had while shopping anywhere and can not believe Kimberly is a member of management. I will never step foot in that store again and certainly will be expressing my experience/ concern with there Human...
Read more1st visit. Went up and down every aisle. Lots of interesting things. Get to the check out with 1 customer in front of us. Had a cart full of merchandise & wanted to buy a bunch of tiles and pay with a check. This took 10 minutes because neither the person writing it nor the cashier knew how to do that. Finally! Nope. Still have the cart full. When she says the total, customer says ' how much '. Now gotta figure out how to change that. 8 minutes later, I left my cart and walked out. No one acknowledged us the whole time. The other register had a customer that was abandoned in the middle of the transaction so the cashier could do a refund...? She asked 4 other employees if they could open the other register. With hands up & shaking his head, he says 'I can't. I would if I could.' Then she asks if one of them could please come finish the transaction, she's been there more than 10 minutes. There were so many things I could have said, I chose to go to Dollar Tree. I will give them another try soon. Maybe it was just one of those days. TIP TO EMPLOYEES: Acknowledge your customers or they...
Read moreThis was my first time shopping at Ollie's. It was very overwhelming. Some of the aisles were cluttered, but it didn't matter to me. There are several aggressive customers who refused to move their shopping carts out of the way. I guess they were scared other customers would grab what they wanted off the shelves? I found some expensive bathroom products like shampoo and body wash for less than $3 each. I bought some new kitchen towels, and kitchen accessories. I liked the book section. Lots of current releases for less than $5. I signed up for the Ollie's discount card so I could get 15% off each item on my...
