Hello I would like share experience, as it just happened moments ago. I was in your Sherman, Texas location trying to find a dress for Easter. I was waiting to be checked out. I was right next to a register that was closed when the sales associate named Mara said that she could take the next person in line. Being that I was already in close proximity to her I placed my things up on the counter to be checked out and she gladly checked me out. The next person that was in the line I was in would have had to have gone out of her way to get to Mara's register. However, the next person had ONE top and changed her mind and walked out. I didn't realize this until Mara's manager, Michelle, scolded Mara for taking my items instead of the very next person, but again the very next person wasn't close (we were 2-3 people apart). Michelle, her manager, scolded her for it and really gave her a mean look. Literally a moment before I got in line I had received a phone call from my daughter's school that she had gotten sick and that I needed to pick her up. I knew it wouldn't take long to get checked out (5 minutes max) and since I knew I was going to have a very busy next few days (Easter weekend) I probably wasn't going to make it back for my items. Mara's excellent customer service got me in and out of the store quickly when I needed it the most. I had two dresses that were almost $40 and the "next person in line" only had a top that was maybe $8, so didn't understand why her boss Michelle was being inappropriately harsh about it. I smiled at Mara and thanked her and went on to pick up my sick kid. I made a point to jot down her name and her boss's name to share my experience here. I love Ross and wanted to acknowledge one of your great sales associates and her...
Read moreI had called the Sherman, TX Ross Dept. Store to find out if they had any more Christmas ornament storage boxes. My daughter had bought some, she said they had some left but I wanted to make sure before driving all the way into town. The young man I spoke to stated he had to ask his Mgr., he told me that she said they DID have some, she had just marked them down. I go directly to Ross, made a special trip into town just for these boxes. I tell the young man when I get there I just called 25min ago about the boxes & asked where they were, he says on the Christmas shelf over there...I find the shelf, no boxes! I look all around the store in hopes, NO BOXES! I ask for the Mgr & she is right there, I tell her it would be nice if her & her employees would actually LOOK before telling the customer yes we have it, that I drove 25 min just for these. She said the ornaments were over there. I said I wasn't looking for ornaments but the storage boxes. She said he must have thought I was looking for the 70 pc set. I told her that I specifically read what was on the boxes my daughter had bought & she still said "I'm sorry, we are not even supposed to be looking for anything when people call anyway." So I guess Ross doesn't believe in going that extra small step for customers, they are only worried about those that they can see, that's a shame. Thanks for nothing Megan (store Mgr. on duty) I wasted my time & hard earned gas money to come to your store for something you said you had but in fact...
Read moreMy daughter bought me house shoes for Christmas from Ross. I tried to return them for a different size , but because I didn't have a receipt or a tag on it the cashier wouldn't return it. I contacted my daughter and she sent me a copy of the receipt. My wife went back to the cashier and showed her the full receipt. The cashier had the transaction number and was able to locate the information in her computer. However, she had an attitude and said they would never sell house shoes at that price. She acted as though we were trying to scam her doe $24.99. I told her that there was a full table by the Christmas decorations, with all of those shoes. She finally put the money back on my daughter's card. What an embarrassing...
