Please do not visit this store. I did not receive a receipt with my purchase on 5/26 and when I went the next day to do a return I was rudely told it was not possible, only an exchange. I politely insisted because I was not given a receipt and so John, the store clerk, said ok and went to the back of the store to call the store manager. When he came back he told me the manager was on the way to assist me. After waiting for a while I just decided to exchange and I asked if I could leave the items I wanted to return tied-up with John in a bag. He said ok no problem. While I was wandering the store I was stopped by John and a police officer, who said they received a call that I refused to leave the store. This is totally untrue and disheartening. I was never asked to leave nor was I being disrespectful or even raising my voice. I simply explained to John that I didn’t receive a receipt. The police officer tried to help to mitigate the conversation at that point in which John admitted he did not ask me to leave and I did in fact leave the items with him. I was so disappointed and frankly shaken, but left and the officer acknowledged that I had not done anything wrong since John admitted I was not asked to leave and my items were left at the front WITH him. After exiting I asked the police office if he could ask for the manager, who is Mike and he was called by John. Mike is unbelievably rude. He yelled that I should leave the store, didn’t want to speak or try to understand that I was actually out of the store with the police officer and I was expecting to have an intelligent conversation with someone that could help. I was told to just look up the corporate office number online if I wanted to file a complaint about my mistreatment. Will do Mike and shame on you and John for lying and wasting the time of everyone involved. Disappointing and disgusting. Save your dollars + 0.25 and go somewhere else. I live in Smyrna and it’s been almost 3 years l am Shopping from this store (heritage pavilion)and l love to shop such small cute and useful items and l never experienced any issue as l experienced yesterday (07/14/22)😡. People who work there they have been always supportive and helpful but yesterday there was a new staff l guess and a lady who was wearing a blinky mask , forgot to see her name she was so annoying, first of all after shopping my bill was almost 37 dollars and l paid 100 dollars which she refused to accept by saying that bill is not right, and when l Showed her few more 100 dollar bills she said the same and that was shocking for me as we have been using those bills from past 3 months and the way she refused to take money was disgusting and moreover my mom(senior citizen) was with me that time, she got scared, the way she denied to accept any money was ridiculous and frustrating, l requested the other guy who was on check out counter that my husband is on way he will reach in 2 mins and again she said very rudely we are closed and not accepting anyone now and it was 9:57 that time and closing time was 10 pm. I canceled all my transaction and only purchased mom necessary stuff which she had to take it to lndia becoz she was also not carrying small bills like 20,50 dollars). We immediately went to ross and purchased few items and the lady there was so nice she didn’t even say anything about that bill , she accepted nicely and returned rest of the money back. We showed her rest of the bills as well she said they are totally fine. I failed to understand if it is dollar tree closing time , is it a correct way to deal with customers specially with senior citizens😡? Terrible customer service. Just walked out the door. Heavy set young cashier on the end by the door did not great me when I came to her register. Did not say thank you have a nice day. I see retail still only teaches theses young ppl to take the money and not what customer service is really about. New date 11/3/2020 Unacceptable customer service from Manager Michael. He initially refused to exchange and item WITH A RECEIPT, because it did not have a tag or the original bag it came in with no sku. I ask him to call the store number on the receipt to get a sku to return my item. He blandly refuses then claimed that I wanted to argue once the embarrassment and uncomfortably set in. I did not raise my voice, I did not curse nor use derogatory verbiage. After refusing to exchange my item because of no tag, he then said the reason was because my item was open. It was open and unused. The lies just kept coming.Then he stated I whined and cried. I ask him if he saw tears in my eyes and he said yes. I let him know I video recorded him lying and turned the camera toward me to show I was not crying. He stated as an employee he can refuse to give ultimate and complete customer service. Obviously he felt entitled to not proficiency do his job. Thia dollar tree has gone down tremendously. Michael the manager seemed overall pleasent but when Challenge by a person with over 35 yrs of sales and retail experience, his demeanor changed and felt he did not have to completely fulfill my wishes as a patron of this store.
