June and Gem Ceramics — Local services in Snoqualmie

I took the chance on a very last minute idea when I emailed June & Gem to ask if they had any class offerings for beginners the following day. I was very surprised to hear back from the owner, Ashley, almost immediately. She went over & beyond, arranging a throwing class on the wheel for my husband & I with one of her instructors. The studio is adorable & everyone was warm, & inviting when we entered. Kassidy, our instructor, was very knowledgeable & patient, showing us various techniques for shaping & even encouraged some free play, that was really helpful to grasp this art form. The class was a surprise for my husband’s 50th birthday, who always had an interest in trying pottery. It was definitely one of his favorite gifts & I’m certain we’ll be back for a lot more. i took a 2-hour workshop and had the best time (even with definite areas of growth to be had!). Kris was an excellent instructor- knew what he was talking about and was so patient with me and my friends when we needed clarification or additional assistance. The 2 hours flew by and while I will certainly benefit from additional classes, I understood the basics and had a great time. I am really looking forward to my next learning opportunity here. The cost is expensive, but the session included as many items as we could create in the allotted time, plus their adorable studio and expert instruction. What a gift...

I took the beginner’s wheel throwing course with Kris and had a fantastic experience. The studio has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, it instantly makes you feel at home, even if you’re brand new to ceramics. Kris is a great instructor - patient, clear, and fun to learn from. The studio has become one of my favorite places to spend creative time. Also, a big shoutout to the owner Ashley!
