I will start off by explaining that my husband and I have come here for 6-7 years. We even had our small wedding reception upstairs. This place will always have a special place in our hearts, but it's sadly gone downhill. We visit a minimum of three times a year, sometimes more. We especially love coming in the winter to try our favorite brew, Avalanche Ale. The last three years, they haven't had it even when we've come in early December. We've chalked it up to, "oh well, maybe next time." An employee there yesterday made it seem like it may not even come out this year. As much as this bummed us out, we get it. As much as we are obsessed with it, it's just beer.
Yesterday we came in for dinner after a long road trip, eager for some awesome beer and the great food. We noticed the menu had been changed in the last year. No more pizza or pretzels with the house made beer cheese and many other items were removed. We opted for some "Fried Pickle Nugs" as a starter. Sounded good. Upon arrival I noticed that it was a half of a jumbo picked diced up into little pieces and fried. Probably 12 pickles, each the size of a dime. We literally spent $10 on half a pickle with very thin lime ranch and buffalo ranch dip. It almost seemed like it was watered down. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and hoped our entrees would be better. My Snoqualmie Burger arrived with half a pickle which was great. I joked with my husband that we finally got the rest of our nugs. The burger patty was thin and I had to spit out three pieces of hard cartilage that could not be chewed. These are not the "massive" burgers they once had. My husband ordered the "Smokin Turkey Melt" and noticed there was not very much turkey on it. There was maybe one slice folded over and that was it. He did not want the bag of pretzels and opted to pay the extra $1.50 for the fries. I don't remember ever having to pay extra for their standard fries. Both our sandwiches came with interesting paper lining in the basket. For a place that only offers one technical "seafood" item it seemed strange that the lining had all these seafood recipes and information on "Fresh/Frozen". It made me think of the Chef Ramsey episodes of businesses being told their entire menu is "Fresh/Frozen" which is likely the case now with this brewery. I kept thinking to myself, what the heck is happening? Is this place going under?
On a side note: the beer is still fantastic, just bummed out there's no consistency on releasing the winter ales.
Prior to leaving I used the restroom and noticed the women's restroom had an active leak under one of the sinks. A bucket had been placed under it. I'm not sure how long this bucket has been here, but come on you guys.....get a plumber out or call the landlord. I also noticed how dirty the floors were and how the thick build up of dirt/scum had made it way up the the baseboards to the walls. I saw the restroom maintenance log taped to the wall of the door showing the employees initials on the cleaning tasks. It appears the toilets and sinks were cleaned on 11/19, 7 days prior to our visit. How do you not clean the toilets daily especially during a holiday week where I'm sure business was increased? And the chart has no initials from anyone on mopping the floors. Only swept. I've never seen their bathrooms look this bad. Someone needs to come in with industrial strength cleaner, a big brush, and scrub the heck out of these floors. I have huge health concern over this. If the floors are not being cleaned, fecal matter can make it's way all over the restaurant.
All this money was put into the outdoor bar area during Covid, but you still have no servers or people to wait the tables indoors. People come to restaurants for the food and the experience. If the experience isn't the greatest, they'll still come for the food and beer as long as it stays consistent. This is unfortunately not the case here. We will only come back for the beer until things get better. I really do hope it does. Just so...
Read moreI came in here with my family on Memorial Day this week after a long hike and was blown away by the level of service and care we received! First of all, the food was incredible (I had the burger and garlic fries - 5stars on that alone!) and I also had two kids with me who are neurodivergent and tend to be very picky eaters so the fact that they had apple sauce pouches and uncrustables as an option in the kids menu was lifesaving in its own rite! At the end of our meal my 5 year old wanted to play the claw machine in the hall near the bathroom and it is one of those that has bonus prizes you can win a token to unlock a door on the bottom to get! Right off the bat we actually were extra excited because the regular prizes are the original 90’s beanie babies and we actually won a few of them and my kids were ecstatic about it (I was too) and then by some miracle we actually won the plastic egg containing the token to open door 5 for this remote control speed boat which was the toy in the bottom that my son wanted so bad it’s why he wanted to do the machine to begin with BUT the machine had an error code for an RFID malfunction and it couldn’t unlock the door, my son was so devastated and started to get really quiet like he does before a meltdown and I was stressing and didn’t know how to fix the situation when Aleks (he runs the brewery with his sister) came by and actually saved the day in such an above and beyond way. He took a photo of the error code and got in touch with the guy that runs the machine and had him come out to fix it that day. We couldn’t stay for that long since my kids needed their naps but he took the prize out for my son and overnighted it first thing the next morning to us. When my son got the package and saw the speedboat inside he was so incredibly excited and I am so incredibly grateful for such an amazing act of kindness that Aleks did for our family in that situation that I can really not recommend this place enough! Amazing place, amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing service, and run by amazing people. We will 100% be back to support this place again and I hope whoever reads this does too! Thank you...
Read moreI gave this place 2 stars, because I'm sure it has some sentimental value among the locals, but my experience was not great.
After driving 2.5 hours to Snoqualmie and entertaining my out-of-state elderly parents all day (I thank you for having ramps +1 star), I wanted a reprieve. I chose this place because of its high ratings. FYI it's on the other side of the pizza place where Google maps directs you to turn.
First, it's 95% self-serve. I wanted to relax. I don't care about the prices. I needed a break, but instead, I navigated a new place and had to figure out where to get drinks, food, water, utensils, sauces, and refills for myself and 2 others. There's even a sign "Know your table number." Oh, I did...table #22.
I ordered from the outside bar. I'm an experienced server now teacher... I carried 3 drinks to our table and ended up wearing most of it (maybe provide a serving tray to prevent patrons from wearing their beverages). I got glasses of lukewarm water with no ice on a 90F-day for my parents. Our food arrived and the parents wanted utensils and plates. I got up to find them utensils and plates. They wanted sweetener for tea and I had to get up and find them sweetener for tea. I am not a lazy person, but if I'm paying $22.00 for a burger (we never received), $10.00 for buffalo chicken dip, $16.00 for wings, a $7.00 pint, and a $2.50 soda... I desperately need more help/service.
The bartendress was amazing. I felt like I was driving her crazy just to figure out your system. Maybe you have to be a regular to understand it, but she was amazing in helping tourists figure it out. Thank you for that!
All-in-all, the food was mediocre tavern faire and you need more customer service. The rest of the experience is provided by the beautiful atmosphere, which doesn't make up for patrons having to serve themselves...
