Nice Rink, Skate School Needs Help

Built only a few years ago this is a nice rink with two sheets and good facilities. I can't speak to hockey but the figure skating school needs some direction. Contrary to some thinking, it is possible to teach figure skating without turning students to tears, so we were thrilled with some coaches added in the last couple of years. However, one Russian-approach instructor(s)--he left a 5-star review here two years ago and I wager is responsible for the most recent 1-star review--seems to be the shadow skate school director and, upset some of his students went elsewhere, made life untenable for two coaches who departed. Now another coach is leaving and I've heard that two we thought were coming decided against it. When nearly a third of the figure coaching staff opts out something's clearly wrong, and I'd suggest Sno-King Kirkland or the Kraken until Snoqualmie...

We are visiting from Hawaii and here to skate. Super impressed with the facility! So clean and spacious. There are assigned seats to safely put on your gear and enough room to social distance. The 2 sheets of ice are huge! There is an enclosed viewing area to watch your kiddos skate, and mezzanine to watch performances. The best thing about this facility are the coaches and staff. Friendly and accommodating! I can tell the coaches all get a long, they introduced my little kiddo figure skater to other kids and other coaches. There is a friendly vibe here, that many rinks lack. We love it here! We started with a group lesson where they were so good and gave so much attention to each child it was amazing! Our daughter however thrives in private sessions and that was set up so quick! All the coaches here are just amazing! We love how quickly she has learnt and is thriving! They make sure the kid enjoys skating more so than putting pressure on them! Would recommend it 100%!!!! We’ve worked with coaches Sabrina and Alanna and they’re just fantastic!
