I never write reviews for bad experiences I have shopping, but today while shopping at TJ Maxx in Burlington I had one of the worst shopping experiences. I should state first that I use to work here up until a few months ago, but gave notice when I received a full time position elsewhere. Today I was in TJ Maxx with my 9 month old dog to find an outfit for a concert I'm going to tonight. As I walked through the store people smiled when they saw my dog, I talked to some of the employees I made friends with while I was there, and I found some things to try on. Two women, who both had dogs, one in a cart, were approaching me and one asked if it was okay for her dog to come to my dog, I said "of course, he's very friendly and loves other dogs". Both of their dogs small dogs, and mine 50lbs, he didn't jump or try to lunge at the little dog. Then the dog in the cart starting barking, which then prompted the other little dog to bark, and then my dog started barking. My dog has a louder bark and I realized I needed to defuse the situation so I started to back away with my dog. That's when one of the store managers, Dan, came up to me pointing towards to door saying" you need to get that dog out of here! He can't be barking in here! Get him out of here you know the rules!" I was so stunned, I actually didn't know that was a "rule" and even so, you don't talk to customers like that, even if I had worked there before. I brought my dog out to the car and rolled all the windows down and went back in to talk to Ted Manning, the store manager. I said I just had an unpleasant experience and explained it all to him and said I put my dog in the car but I just wanted to tell him this and that I'm not even going to keep shopping. He then said "yes Dan just told me what happened. Make sure you don't leave your dog in the car it's hot out." Are you kidding me! It's 65 degrees out, windy and I have all the windows down in my car, I don't need you to tell me how to care for my dog, instead you should teach your employees the value of good customer service. Then a customer who I hadn't even seen was walking by and said "she's right, I saw the whole thing" I wish I had gone up to her after and thanked her, because at least she was able to see the rude experience I had. Even the two ladies with the small dogs that did the barking apologized to me! I started doubting myself as a dog owner, thinking he's bad for barking, but you know for 1. He's still a puppy, he's going to bark, and 2. The 2 other dogs instigated the situation, yet Dan stormed up to me, arm in the air, demanding I leave. Is it because my dog is bigger? Because none of this makes sense to me. Not only did he prevent me from shopping and finding an outfit for my fun night, but he made me doubt myself as a dog owner. I...

I have been a TJ Maxx customer for 25 years, starting in Virginia - After moving to Vermont, I found a TJ Maxx in Burlington. I have always liked the store in Burlington, but during the pandemic, I have liked them so much more. I started shopping on site when the store reopened- First, they follow the CDC guidelines, and are consistent- someone at the door makes sure that customers are masked, there is a capacity limit which is followed, there is a person who disinfects individual carts( large or small) for you. This is done so well and smoothly. There are guidelines on the floor to maintain order and social distancing, and plexiglass barriers at the jewelry counter and registers. That being said, providing a safe shopping experience- the best part of all- the attitude of the personnel!! Every time that I go to this store, I am greeted with smiles, I am helped with smiles and I am cashed out with smiles. This is always important, but even more so at this time of concern and confusion. I LIKE to shop here, look forward to stopping in and browsing, because regardless if I find something or not, I walk out feeling good. Again, that being said, the store has great things at great prices. I generally find something in the jewelry section- at wonderful prices! And the makeup section- where I can find high end makeup at discount prices! Lime Crime lip toppers at $5.99, for instance!! Housewares are priced so well, and there is a large fur baby section. And always, clothing!! So, If you are looking for a shopping experience that will make you smile and feel good in an uncertain time, you will definitely want to check out TJ Maxx in...

The management in TJMaxx for customer service is excellent. Anytime I needed assistance with management it was swift, friendly and most of all, I felt comfortable. Many stores, especially with returns and customer service , lack professionalism and too rigid. I had my daughter apply for her first job here, at 16, since I took note how excellent management is. Ms. Reisner, in particular, has a sassy take charge demeanor, and also down to earth. She is a great leader, mentor for my daughter, and easy to talk to. Communication is essential in a work environment. My daughter (prior to employment) had to dress for last minute Prom. Ms. Reisner helped with her fashion input, on her dress, matched jewelry together with us, called over her best "shoe specialist" to pick a comfortable heel. Once dressed, she had her walked down the aisle for several staff to gloat! Exclusive customer service for VIP's only, but not here. It is easy to note the other two managers walking around, hyper vigilant in oversight, and correspondence with usually in smiling and laughing. ...

T.J. Maxx is easiest way to renew your wardrobe, that is fact. This T.J.Maxx in Burlington, VT is amazing cause of many things. You can find everything you need + prices are very afordable! I bought leather fashion boots (short one) for barely $35! Snickers was similar price, couple sweathers, two pants and few products for skin (cleanser + retinol) and that costed me like less then half price in other places who are selling clothes and cosmetics. This is my choice when we are talking about clothes, cosmetics and shoes. Today we can order online many things but advantage of this type of shopping are bigger. T.J.Maxx in Burlington offers a lot for kids, men and for home. I love this place! Now they are offering T.J. Maxx card with 5% cash back which is amazing for bigger bills. *This two sweathers are bought in this shopping I am talking about!

This is a huge TJM store with large collection of clothes, shoes, home goods, kids apparel and toys. The store is mostly clean and tidy. The jewelry, watch and handbag sections didn’t have much inventory or good choices. Still it is very popular among locals. I saw lots people in the store, at one point there were more than 10 customers waiting in checkout lane. Throughout the store prices were excellent. We got a princess doll with unicorn for only $9. Rest of items I checked also had decent discounted price. For checkout we got lucky, there wasn’t any line. It was quick and easy, associate was friendly and helpful at the register.

I almost never go to TJ Maxx for anything but my husband decided to stop by when we are visiting Burlington VT. Honestly I’m impressed. They have big collections of clothing shoes toys and home goods. Most of them are in discount price. We got kids socks and doll/unicorn toy. The quality was actually good. Nothing has fallen apart yet. Barely any wait at the check out line. Many register counters are open. The staff were friendly. Good place to get day-to-day merchandise.
