Have had several bad items from this store that I just throw out, but the latest really rubbed me the wrong way. My wife went to make 3.5lbs of chicken breast we bought, today is the 7/8/25, the “sell by date” is 7/12/25, should be good, right? No. She opened it and it smelled so bad she almost threw up. -We wondered why there was a stink in the fridge, but didn’t think that was the culprit and didn’t investigate just yet. So, I figured on my way home from work, I could stop and show them a picture of the chicken, along with the “good by date” and thought they could look up my card for receipt if needed. They would not, and TODD the manager would not even come to the desk. He told the cashier on the phone either they need the paper receipt, or the rancid chicken OR I could call corporate and get a proof of purchase faxed from my credit card. SERIOUSLY? It’s 2025, you guys can’t look up my transaction like every other store in this country? You think I’m over here committing chicken fraud?? You want to have such an item brought back into your store??? Out of spite I dug the chicken out of the trash, quadruple bagged it, it still smells more than I can tolerate in my car to drive back to the store, let alone the time and hassle of this, and not having meat for dinner. Half of me wants to suffer through the trip and dump it out across their counter. But my sense came to and I’m just writing this review instead. Oh, YOU SUCK, Todd. Read moreI'd give this location no stars if I could. The staff was beyond rude. The lines are always long, today they had multiple lines open when I walked in. I shopped, went to get in one of the now only two lines open that were long enough to be halfway to the back, they did have a third express lane open but I had too many items. When I walked around the aisle to get in one of the two lines I was told it closed... By the time I got around to the other line it was nearly to the back of the store. I waited in line...and waited...and waited and finally had to leave without my groceries as I had to get back to work. On my way out I was accosted by an employee that was not working at a register(though if she WERE I wouldn't be leaving) who then physically tried to block me in the store with a cart!?!? I will never shop here again. I'm used to Marc's being slow, but this was exceptional and I'm sorry I'm not leaving MY job short handed because you have employees roaming around not checking people out while you have a line nearly to the back of the store. I'd rather pay the few cents more to have a good customer service experience at Aldi's or shop the Mayfield Marc's. It's shame as this one was very close to my home. Read moreFirst and last time shopping there!! The eve of 12/29/2018. Bad customer service experience. One shopper in front of me finishing checkout. Didn't notice I had gone into express line with 18 items (later shown by register receipt); cashier told me without looking up that her register was express only. There was no sign posted or showing maximum number of items anywhere. So I asked her about it and she said the manager told her 12 items max. In disbelief at the poor customer service, I went ahead and moved to the next line over and waited to be checked out while the express line cashier just stood there doing nothing after her customer left. I later asked for and spoke to a manager who said there had been a sign that stated the maximum number of items allowed but that it had fallen down and needed to be re-hung. I told manager that until that sign gets re-posted, then the cashier should ring up any customer coming to her line. The cashier was actually standing there doing nothing while I was still in the next line over. The manager agreed and did speak to the young lady but my shopping experience was already ruined.
