Given the recent turn of event, Blick Art supplies store like all non essential shops, offers online or curbside pick up only. This is fine, we definitely want to stop exposure for both shop attendants and customers. The issue I am having is that when you order your items for a curbside pick up they charge you for delivery ( even when the items are already physically in the shop). I was charged $8 more than the online price, and when I called the store manager she told me that the price is based on the lowest of store or online price. They compared the lowest of online price WITH shipping or in store. The online price was $8 less. She refused to listen to my reason (the price comparison is based factoring shipping..?....?..?. I am picking it up!!!) Moreover, when I arrived at the store, they put the item in my car, and once the attendant left I inspected the item. Not having the possibility of touching the item before buying it, I realized it was not appropriate for my project. I immediately called the store manager and she told me that she could not give a refund or process returns. When I paid through the phone she never mentioned she could not issue refunds or returns. Now I am stuck with items that I dont need, and I will have to waste more time going there once again for a refund once the store will reopen. Customer service is horrible, I talked to three different managers, two at the store and one at the toll free number. They all are very defensive, hostile. It feels like they already have in there mind they need to do absolutely anything they can NOT to give you a refund. Their attitude is not courteous at all. I am very disappointed about this shop, the store here in Miami.
Update: Eventually, customer service reached out and they issued a egift card for...
Read moreso, as a member since Ultrecht days in 1994, i spend an average of $300-$400 a month on art supplies. i am a frequent buyer. today i just experienced the biggest insult this store has put me through. after taking a family of friends from South America to buy things ( a little over $200)… my daughter last minute decided to buy a knitting package that cost $30. my credit card is stolen, so I had to pay in cash. I only had a $100 bill. I was not allowed to purchase the kit because I was required to spend at least $100. Even though we just spent over $200- in the same trip- in cash ( in $20 bills)- without leaving the store. The manager, Deeana, decided “ rules are rules. sorry”. My daughter’s face as the lady said no was beyond hurtful to me. Because a manager decided my 20 years plus of loyalty was not reason to sell me a product I really needed. btw- my daughter’s friend also wanted one, bringing the total to $60, but the damage had been done. We almost returned everything and had gone to Michael’s but the kids were tired. Anytime that lady Deeana is in that store with that cashier is at that store, I will immediately walk out and kindly tell you what a horrible service your staff gives to loyal customers of 20+ years( look it up- you have my hotmail account). Or maybe it’s why Amazon is killing...
Read moreThis place is great. I used to go every now and then but I've been painting more since the COVID situation. Now I frequent the store more often and the people here have helped me improve my painting skills. All the employees there are super polite and very good at helping me with my questions. Theres a few workers there that I always try to specifically get input from because they have been so helpful. I wish I could've caught their names for this review but they are wonderful. I literally just got home from a visit there and I got excellent help on what I needed for my next project. I've been able to enjoy this hobby more and this place always has just what I need. I included some pictures of just a small sample of things I've painted using Blick paints. I've done a lot more and will continue to do so and will continue to go to Blick to get materials and advice. Excellent location and excellent employees. They should get recognition for their efforts. Great,...
