This is specifically about bikes. I really canât speak on the rest of it. The employees were nice, so this isnât an attempt to talk poorly of them, either.
Iâd gotten a bike for my partner who hadnât had a chance to learn yet. Because it was a busy day we picked it up a bit later in the day but it was pre-assembled. We go to ride it later that week, and it acts extremely strangely
Iâve ridden bikes since I was a kid, and I nearly fell off of it every time I got on. The chain would both catch on itself and unhinge altogether but catch again after a second. It made for a crunchy, wobbly, unpredictable, and dangerous experience. Of course, when I looked it up, there was a policy that I have to get ahold of them within 24 hours. That would have never happened to begin with, and frankly I doubt it would have helped.
I took it to a local bike shop and paid to have them look it over and fix it because, despite my best effort, I couldnât figure out what the issue was. I assumed the derailer was misaligned or something. And I absolutely could not let that disaster be my partnerâs first biking experience or Iâd never be able to get her back on the trail. I wouldnât be able to blame her either
The local shop I took it to, who is fantastic, pointed out a laundry list of issues with the bike. Most notably, the chain was three lengths too long. That caused it to be far too loose and was the cause of a lot of our issues. How does that happen? On top of that the derailers were misaligned, the brakes were set wrong, the handlebars were too loose, etc. Itâs genuinely alarming how much was set in a way that could have either caused an injury to me / my partner or potentially damaged the bike down the road (trail)
I donât know if itâs a training issue within the company as a whole or a lack of care from whoever had done put it together in this store, but the assembly work was incredibly shoddy. To be clear Iâm not even mad at the person who put it together - Iâm sure they donât get paid enough to be motivated to become a bike expert or anything. I guess I bought into the talk on the website and was hopeful the assembly would be closer to âpretty alrightâ than âactively dangerous.â Itâs Dickâs responsibility to make sure the folks that are set to do that are able to well, and that doesnât seem to be the case unfortunately

We visited this store on Saturday, July 26th around 1:30pm, and it was a disappointing experience from the moment we walked in. Unlike the Robinson Mall location where youâre greeted upon entry, here no one acknowledged us.
We headed to the golf section and told an employee we needed helpâhe just walked away without saying a word. There was no visible restroom signage anywhere, and when we asked two girls near the shoe section, they looked annoyed and barely helped. They seemed more focused on their phones than assisting customers. If you're going to hire teens, their phones should be kept in the backâthis is a workplace, not a hangout spot.
Prices are also ridiculously high for no reason. We left without buying anything and went to Dunhamâs instead, where prices were far more reasonable. At the Robinson Mall location, staff always ask if I need help. Thatâs clearly not the culture here. Whoever manages this store needs to seriously address how unprofessional and unhelpful the team is.

Another family showed up. And they went above and beyond to help them. So after both employees helped the One family. I had to have my son flag one down to come assist us.
