Not sure if it is the same sales clerk who is the culprit. But I experienced some discrimination today. Not sure why in this day and age. I had some products in my hand that I was ready to purchase, but I only grabbed a few items and wanted to see what else I could purchase as I love the quality of Soma’s products. I shopped along with a couple of white women, one went into the dressing room. The older white woman sales clerk with almost shoulder length hair, came up to me close to my face and asked “what do you need help with”. I said I’m just browsing thank you as I was literally scrolling through the rack of tops. She looked hesitant to walk away but started to then whipped back around and said “Well can I put your items at the register?”. I said “If that is what you would like to do”. Then this woman had the nerve to say “Yes I would.” She then grabbed my items then rushed to put them at the register. After that I went to go pay for them because I looked over at the older white woman shopper and saw that she got to shop there in peace while I was being practically attacked, probably because she is white and I am black. Otherwise, wouldn’t the attendant have asked her if she needed help too? I’m sick of this disgusting treatment of blacks by white salesclerks. I’m a well educated and financially successful female who deserves to not be treated as if she was caught stealing. I and most black people I know are not thieves. Why aren’t these white people being taught to not discriminate? Did you see this person steal something or are you judging them with a racist biased mindset than actually having real proof that they are deserving of your ill-treatment?...
Read moreNever buying from this store again. I purchased items from Evergreen Walk WHBM and received a coupon for Soma next door. I was in the market for a comfortable bra as I was flying to the Caribbean in the morning so I walked inside. All three sales associates working were in full conversation. I shopped around for about 10 minutes looking for something I liked. No greeting no mention about promotions or sales. As I started searching through for my size and moved to the drawers since I had no luck in the racks, a sales associate came over to ask if I needed help. I told her I was just looking for my size. I found it and went to the register. The cashier was unfriendly and dry. She rang up my one item which was full price over $60 and I placed my coupon on the counter. She completed my purchase and I walked out the door. I’d like to believe their unwelcoming attitude had nothing to do with the fact that I am a Black Woman, as the cashier was also a heavy set Black Woman. But I had the same experience in LOFT. Last I checked money is green, they are working there, and I am a buying customer. The Vanishing 360 Perfect Coverage Bra I purchased lasted one week before losing its elasticity and structure started to warp around the edge of the cup. I’m a C cup and it fit perfectly at first. Will never purchase from Soma again. Very poor service and quality. Do better greeting customers and pleasantries go a long way for customer experience. I’m sure Walmart has...
Read moreI usually go to the Soma in Clinton. But today I went to the Soma in the Evergreen Walk. As usual, I have received amazing customer service. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and immediately helped. Sadly, I was not able to get the name of the woman who helped me with finding my bras today. But she measured me, based on her measurements, she gave me bras based on my requests. She made sure they fit me correctly. She also gave suggestions. Then when I was satisfied with the bras, she offered me a variety of colors. She was awesome. Then the cashier, Dianna, was amazing as well. She was very sociable, and extremely nice. I had a pleasant experience here and would highly recommend Soma in the Evergreen...
