An odd post tonight with the 5 star ratings as this is an actual "boo-hoo" complaint that I need no sympathy for, yet, felt the need to share. I've been a regular at this store for four years, spending beacoup bucks, most visits.
Tonight, that changes from a minor incident where I noticed i ran out of my Essence drinking water, i rushed from my Lathrup Village residence looking to be in and out of the store before 9, I arrived at 8:55 and this was shortly after a customer, still here in the lot, just exited . when the automated door function didn't open, i noticed the 2 cashiers scurry off to the frozen ailse and began there routine to close..
as I appeared at the window, with my beaming smile, hoping to grab 2 bottles and be out before 9, they looked at each other, then made their way onto another area,,,,,where another customer was still inside. Now it's 8:58 and I see the laughing which was oddly rude in my mind, instead of just making notice that they didn't want me in the store so they could leave at a particular time. I get it. My daughter works at the Market Fresh across the street and they honor their guests as long as they're inside by/b4 9 My 16 years young child may have to hang out a bit later, possibly get the cart from outside when the guest leaves out after 9. Most stores I patronize have that policy, and I guess I feel a bit entitled, as i always bring the good vibes wherever I shop. Feeling a bit offended as I am still in the lot, posting away, while they sit in there, no rush to leave, sipping on a beverage, carefree, lights on, no move to leave. what wouldve been a 2 minute transaction, with no disrespect to their agenda, was thwarted just because they chose to do so. Guess I can take my business elsewhere and not be so sensitive in the future because hard working people, felt the need to work harder and not assist me tonight. thanks ladies. was nice shopping here for a handful of years. one monkey won't stop your show. and I won't show my face in the store ever again. Big Ups to Anna, both Greg's and the wonderful poundcake lady , who know how to take care of...
Read moreWhen shopping at Better Health, be sure to check expiration dates on everything. Today is Oct 4 and I made a trip in for a specific plant milk that only this store & Whole Foods carries. The only cartons available had expired on Sep 10… nearly A MONTH AGO. I notified the grocery manager and requested 3 fresh cartons; but she told me there were none in back & none on order…. because SHE HADN’T REALIZED THEY’D EXPIRED!!! She said this without the slightest hint of embarrassment that the stock inventory in her department is so lax that they can’t manage to keep up on expiration dates— even in the refrigerator section. It’s not the first time I’ve found expired foods at not only this Better Health but the one on Telegraph as well; so maybe the “ignore expired items until a customer complains” policy comes from higher up in the management hierarchy than this grocery manager. I hope those responsible for that policy see this and actually care. I hope they step up their game because I do like the variety and types of product they sell here. I typically have to shop at Whole Foods because they have the best stock of fresh organic produce, but I get so very bored with their store and selection in general. So, Better Health, I truly hope you start caring about the freshness of the groceries you carry— because now I have to make another trip to your competitor to obtain what I came to you for.
Note: After posting this review I went home and noticed the carton (same brand) of plant milk I bought from Whole Foods in August has an expiration date of Oct 18. This sheds an even more horrifying light on how old and lifeless most of your groceries must be. So sad. The variety you offer is no longer worth a trip to any of...
Read moreBefore I describe the dispicable experience I just went through at the better health store on Telegraph, please know that I still love BH and do consider it to be my second home. On my way home I decided to stopped into this BH to pick up 3 items, this was an unexpected stop. For personal use and my client. Prior to that I was literally at the Novi location where most the staff knows me abd have always made me feel welcome. When I got to the register I asked the young lady who at the beginning did not seem like she wanted to be there anyways if she really needed to see my text with rhe 30% off she said yes. I forgot I deleted the text and showed her my receipt from the Novi store that they gave me the discount. When I asked to speak to a manager she said "I am the manager." I said you can tell from my account I am an avid shopper at the BH stores. That woman would not budge. It was her nonchalant attitude. Stating, Its my policy. I have brought so many clients there spending hundreds of dollars there, doing shopping tours, to be dismissed by that manager. I guess the worse thing is was showing a person grace in that moment especially after showing her my receipt from the Novi location. Her attitude was rotten and I will sure be never to visit that store again. To the manager, in times like these, without customers like me who visit your store, your very expensive store you would be calling "Marvin" It would not have hurt you to give me the discount. Stay home if you do not want to service the public with care. After all it is a better...
