Restaurant Review | Beverly Hills Grill in Michigan
I haven't been to BHG in over 10 years. I was pleasantly surprised that my favorite salad is still on the menu! The pulled chicken salad is my favorite salad there. I used to get it all the time when I lived close to this restaurant. The salad was exactly how I remembered it. It did not disappoint. I also had the James Beard hash browns and they were good. It was unique in that the outside was crispy and the inside was kind of soft like mashed potatoes. I like the two textures.
It was a treat for me to go this weekend with a group of friends and it was a good experience. We went at noon on a Sunday during their brunch, which was packed! Have a reservation if you have a party of six or more. That is the minimum to have a reservation. Our waitress was really friendly and she kept making sure that we didn't need anything else. Very attentive, which I appreciate. They add a 20% gratuity automatically for all dine-in customers. They even circled it on the receipt so that you realized it was there. I thought that was excellent. They also had no issues separating our bills which is also wonderful because so many restaurants now give you a hard time about separate bills.
This wasn't a cheap brunch, but it was delicious. The cocktail was strong and completely worth the price tag, I only wish they added some kind of garnish to make it look pretty.

Read moreSo for dinner, my sister and I decided to stop by the Beverly Hills Grille. We we're warmly greeted, and immediately seated. Our server, Brandon promptly grabbed our drink orders.
He returned with our drinks and gave us the evening specials. We started off with lobster bisque. It was rich and comforting. I ordered the pan seared Mahi Maui with risotto and vegetables, my sister ordered the overnight braised short ribs, with savory bread pudding. The mahi mahi was served hot, crispy and well seasoned. The sides were delicious as well seasoned.
The braised short ribs were delicious, but a little fatty. And though she didn't complain, Brandon our server did notice. Not only did he alert the chef, the manager stopped by the table twice to apologize for the excessively fatty cut if meat served, and graciously offered dessert to my sister on the house, and deducted her meal from the bill. Dessert was brownie sundae, complete with vanilla ice cream and hit chocolate sauce. I ordered The peach cobbler. It was served warm, with a delicious crunchy streusel topping and Rays vanilla ice cream. A delicious finish to a fabulous dining experience. The service was impeccable. So of course we will be back for brunch. If you're looking for an upscale dinner in an inviting atmosphere, BHG is a great place for busuness or date night. Thank to the manager and Brandon for making our experience a memorable and...
Read moreCame in on a Sunday morning, close to when it opened. I got the Egg & Meat(chose bacon) entree, which comes with hash browns and an english muffin, and the banana foster french toast. Both tasted exceptionally well. The eggs, though not seasoned, was cooked just right, and didn't have a overly moist texture, nor dry. Bacon was crispy, including the 'fatty' portion w/o being burnt and had a good flavor. Hash browns were good, but not great. Its made in a specific style, and unfortunately its not my ideal soft-to-crisp ratio, leaning more towards having more soft interior than crisp exterior. Still good though. The muffin was great too; lightly toasted and great texture. I ended making a impromptu sandwich out of the three(muffin/egg/bacon). It was really good.
The french toast had some kind of cinnamon sprinkled on it, with some kind of candied pecans. They went well together with the bananas. The bananas themselves were not as soft as I'm used to(big banana fan so eat them normally all the time), but I'm not sure if that's just the process or if they were not fully ripened. The flavors from the rest of the entree made up for it though.
Server was Edy and she was an absolute delight =03. Funny and charismatic, I really enjoyed my small conversations with her. And of course, she tended to all of my needs .
Certainly will go back someday to dine in and try something off the...
