I was rather disturbed by the quality of the bagels at this location. I arrived and ordered two everything bagels, one with lox and cream cheese and the other as a bacon egg and cheese (BEC). The BEC had an egg that was microwaved in a plastic container and very little bacon. Both bagels were hardly toasted, the employee touched the bagels and felt they weren't toasted, yet continued making the sandwiches without further toasting. The cream cheese and lox were fine which warrants two stars, but the BEC was an affront to the quality of traditional New York bagels. The bagels themselves were very doughy, indicating they were not cooked properly. A New York bagel is supposed to be crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and thick with a small hole in the middle. These bagels had none of those qualities. Additionally, the BEC was assembled upside down. A microwaved egg on the BEC is downright inexcusable. While I understand eggs are expensive, there is a reasonable expectation the eggs should be cooked to order at a restaurant specializing in bagels. If it costs more to do so, then factor that into the price. I have felt nauseous since consuming the egg microwaved in the plastic container. It was my first time in there and I didn’t realize the way to greet and treat your customers is with the true northern attitude. I was waiting next in line and she unpleasantly says “next in line”. So I was obviously in the front of the line a guy came next to me. As I started to say “hello, can I have?”… the man speaks very loudly over me and starts ordering. Another employee who had seen me, looks back from making another order and I said “I am here right?” She shook her head yes and I’m like l okay I just wanted to make sure I’m not invisible”. So I look at the other employee and I said by the way I was next in line. Immediately get attitude went to “well I said next in line”… I just said and I started to order. It was sob as that I actually started to tear up and felt like I was going to cry. I should’ve just left and not given them my business. It wasn’t worth it anyways. Called and tried to speak with Janet to add the salmon and get my sandwich heated and cut in half as their platform didn’t offer this amenity for my order. Janet was very rude, short, and hung up on me claiming they were very busy and she had not seen my order despite me saying I had just placed it. Because of her rudeness, I called back, got her again but asked to speak to the manager, Phil. I asked him to cancel my order because of Janet’s rudeness. He said he was able to cancel the order Janet said she didn’t see. He was rude too and took up for her saying “she wasn’t rude”. He was referring to the current conversation that he heard and not the initial conversation I had with Janet on the first call. Their customer service is terrible.
